Programmers vs. Builders
A programmer who fell on hard times decided to start a contracting business.
The first client, who hired him for a home remodeling, mentioned that he was an entrepreneur who had made a fortune by acquiring, stripping, and selling businesses like the one where the programmer had worked.”It takes real balls to make money that way,” the client said.
When it came time for the remodeling, the programmer decided to get even. Instead of showing up with hammers and buzzsaws, he showed up at the client’s house with a wrecking ball.
As the walls started to get hit, the client ran out and asked “What the hell are you doing?” The programmer said, “My job, and you know something? It takes big balls to make a living this way.”
