It’s been a busy year already, in a good way. We’ve been planning on doing a contest to show our appreciation for quite some time and finally we got around to putting everything together. We have the detail below on how you can participate, but before we move forward, we would like to introduce ourselves (after all a formal introduction is always a good way to start things).

fixR has been described as an “ebay for home remodeling“: homeowners list their remodeling needs as contractor submit estimates to get the work.

Unlike the yellow pages, fixR helps homeowners select the most competitive and successful contractors for free: when a contractor bids on your project, fixR alerts all other professionals so they can adjust their bids to win the job… but it doesn’t stop here: homeowners review contractors so you can check their reputation before selecting them. fixR allows you to choose contractors based on quality, reputation and price!

Now that we are done introducing ourselves, let’s get straight to the contest.

Altogether we are giving away five prizes. The first, second and third prizes are listed below.

How To Enter The Contest

We have decided to open up participation in couple ways so it’s much easier for you. (you can choose one or all three options). Each option will be based on point system so it is much easier for us to choose a winner. Please follow the instructions below on how you can participate and the point system the contest will be based on.

NOTE : If you enter the contest through Twitter, Facebook and Blog, you MUST leave a comment with your Facebook usename, twitter link and blog link so we can verify its the same person. We know it’s extra work but we will give your comment 1 more point which will increase your chances of winning even more.

1. Twitter (2 points) : To participate using twitter all you have to do is follow us on twitter and retweet the contest. Click on the buttons below to follow and RT (1 point each).

2. Facebook (2 points) : To participate using Facebook, it’s even easier. Click on the button below and enter the contest via Facebook (and become a fan) which is worth 2 points. note : if you are not a fan the link will directly take you to the app. If you are already a fan, click on the promotion tab on the fanpage to participate.

3. Blog (3 points) : If you want to maximize your chances of winning, you can go ahead and write a post about this contest on your blog and why you want to win. Be sure to link to this post so we can track where it was mentioned. If you go with this option, you’ll earn 3 points.

How It Works

If you use only one of the above mentioned ways, you get the points for that particular platform. For example, if you choose to participate through Facebook only, you get two points. But if you choose to participate via Twitter and Facebook, that equals 4 points and so on and so forth.

Don’t forget to comment and leave your Facebook username, twitter link or blog post if you use more than one platform. It is REQUIRED so we can verify.

How The Winners Will Be Decided

We will choose winners based on points. As mentioned above, you have the option to choose only one way to participate, for example : Facebook, but you will earn only 2 points which will make it much harder to win. The more options you choose to participate, the stronger your chances of winning are. In case of a tie, we will choose winners based on no. of retweets they got, quality of blog post or facebook shares.

When Will The Contest End

The contest will end on Monday, Feb. 8th at 11 PM CST and the winners will be announced on Monday Feb. 10th. Be sure to check back here, facebook fanpage or twitter to see if you are the lucky winner. Sure, it’s been quite a long read for you and you are excited to get going.
