The area of interest is a small, fenced-in backyard located in a residential building complex. The area has not been maintained by its previous owner. It is covered in weeds with no grass, and two full grown trees are present. No mulch bed is present. My goal is as follows:
1.)Strip the weedy/grass mix
2.)Bring in fresh lawn soil
3.)Make a bedding area around the perimeter of the fence
4.) Plant shrubs/plants that are most appropriate for the environmental and soil conditions
5.) Put down a preventative tarp in the bed to keep weeds from popping up
6.) Lay mulch
7.) Add a fertilizer to the soil to ensure sod growth
5.) Install sod (estimated 25 2x4 strips of sod
6.) Finally, power wash the small deck and clean up all the stripped grass and dirt.
Another thing to keep in mind to help make a more accurate estimate is that the only entrance to the backyard is through the building, as the yard is surrounded by neighbors and there is not an opening in the fence. That would mean that materials and clean up would have to be done manually into and out of the building.
Fence and landscaping on roof.
