About A+ Dog Grooming

A+ dog grooming is a professional dog and cat grooming service serving the quad cities, Rock Island County and Scott County.

I’m Kimberly Martin. I’m the owner/groomer of the business and have been grooming for 5 years now.

In our bath service, we:

  • Clean their eyes and ears
  • Trim their nails
  • Brush them to get any lose coat out
  • Bath them in warm water
  • Completely hand-dry them

In our hair cut service, we:

  • Clean their eyes and ears
  • Trim their nails
  • Clip their coat down to the length you like
  • Bath them in warm water
  • Completely hand-dry them
  • Clip their coat again to make sure it is even

All services include a Spritz and a bow or bandanna.

  • All-breed dog grooming, even breed standard cuts like poodles, westies and cocker clips. We can also do lion cuts and any cut that you wish. We can also shave cats down as well.

  • its not that easy to do at home if you dont have the training to actually do it..

  • double coated dog breeds, such as huskies, saint benards, Pomeranian, golden retriever, labs, should never been shaved down, as it can cause skin and fur issues. also sometimes it causes them to never grow back

  • What brands or products do you work with?

  • Currently using Espree brand, but looking into using more natural products to go into holistic grooming, what is all natural products, and knowing more about every breed out there.

  • How did you get started?

  • I loved dogs and cats so much. I actually started my own business back in Australia, and I got 2 weeks on-the-job training through the franchise I bought. All the rest is hands-on experience. No one has ever been upset about my clips.

  • What are the most frequent questions you get from customers? What are the answers?

  • the most common question i get asked, is

    Q: how do you recommend my dog to be groomed (maltese, yorkie, shihtzu)

    A: i recommend short all over the body, little fluffy on the head, and longer tail

  • What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?

  • After I have groomed and bathed the dog, I help suggest a regular grooming routine for them. If they have skin issues, I suggest foods for them, also shampoos and such for bathing at home.
