Aldred Electric is a family owned electrical contracting business. We are licensed and insured and have been in business in the Charlotte and Indian Trail area since 1973.

  • How many projects do you average in a year?

  • Aldred Electric averages 50 to 150 projects per year. Most of our work is from repeat customers and contractors who trust us, as well as referrals from customers we have had in the past. Most projects can be completed in just several days to a week or more depending on size. The average size of our projects depends on the customers and we are always willing to listen to their specific needs

  • What brands or products do you work with?

  • We use Cutler Hammer Sguare D, General Electric, Crouse Hinds, and a few other panels depending on which job and what works best. We also install Whole House Electrical Surge Protection that is installed at the main pain to protect against lightning and voltage surges for the entire home. We also install customer provided lighting or other UL listed products.

  • What do you wish customers knew about your profession or trade?

  • I wish customers knew how much money and time they can lose by hiring unlicensed contractors or using a friend who knows just enough to get hurt or hurt you. For example: We can hang a ceiling fan in less than an hour, and we make sure that it is properly supported, so it could not fall on you. Or you can do it yourself, taking all day Saturday and not sleep good at night worrying about it. Electricity can kill you and it only takes one mistake.

  • Something customers may not know about Aldred Electric is that we have been serving the Charlotte metro area for over 35 yrs. We are a family owned and operated business with many satisfied repeat customers.

  • What areas of your trade do you specialize in?

  • We specialize in electrical remodeling and upgrades to homes as well as swimming pool wiring and landscape lighting. We also do small commercial electrical projects. Every job is important to us, no matter how small. From hanging ceiling fans to receptacles, we do it all. Our reputation and repeat customers have kept us in business since 1973.

  • What types of jobs are the most common?

  • The most common types of jobs we do are remodeling kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms. During the summer, we install as many as 100 ceiling fans per year. Another common type of job we do is trouble-shooting and repairing electrical circuits in the home.We also wire swimming pools and small commercial jobs.

  • What information do you recommend to have readily available before looking for a professional in your trade?

  • We recommend getting references and making sure that if you are going to hire a professional electrician that they are licensed and insured.

  • Tell us about the project or job that you are most proud of (in the last 12 months).

  • Aldred Electric has recently remodeled a basement in the Providence Plantation area. It has been converted into a home theater and has a full size bar, cigar room, pool table and a sizable storage area, along with an art and craft room.

    We installed recess lighting, LED step lighting, receptacles and pendant lights. All of the lighting is controlled by a Graphic Eye system and can be customized for different moods and times.

  • The most frequent questions we get from customers are:

    will there be any sheetrock damage if we have to cut holes?

    Answer: We always work carefully to ensure minimal damage when fishing wires across ceilings.

  • We stand behind our work and warranty all of our labor. We are a local company, so we can be at the job site faster than other companies.

  • Aldred Electric is a member of NARI and The Masters Electrical contractors association. We have unlimited electrical licenses in North and South Carolina.

  • Call the individual contractors that you trust and an interior decorator if necessary. Most small projects in residential don’t always need a general contractor. Homeowners can apply for their own permits and if walls need to be moved or reinforced, an engineer can be hired and the job needs to be inspected.

  • Aldred Electic was started in 1973 and is a family business in Indian Trail, N.C. It was founded by Russell Aldred and currently providing electrical work to Charlotte and surrounding areas.
