  • What certifications or professional affiliations do you have?
  • Linked-in affiliations for Property management, PDCA, and various construction affiliations. I am Licensed in the state of CA and carry an EPA certification for working on homes built prior to 1978 that may contain lead building materials.

  • What information do you recommend to have readily available before looking for a professional in your trade?
  • If its interior work: Do you want the ceiling painting?

Can we paint the closets the same as the trim color and sheen?

Dark areas such as a closet usually do not need to be decorated unless you live in a home that has a 400-880 sq foot walk in closet.

Doors and casings included? Trim? or just walls?

  • How did you get started?
  • As with most things, I started in one area and it evolved to another. I worked in the coatings industry much of my adult life after college. I spent time as a painter in the SF Bay area and then moved to the Sacramento area and managed paint stores for a large west coast manufacturer. Back then they put us through painting apprenticeship courses to make us trade savvy for our customers. We had to become experts in Airless spray applications when airless pumps were just becoming popular, Paint chemistry, color matching, Wall Paper installation, color theory, design and decorating. This education mixed with my application experience of the past and now present has gotten me to the point where I am now contracting my own work and developing a company to do even more.

  • What brands or products do you work with?
  • PPG, Kelly Moore, Rustoleum, Sherwin Williams, and Behr products. For top grade acrylic enamel, KM durapoxy, PPG Manor Hall. KM 1245, 1240, 1200. SW Duration. Vista Weathermaster.

  • What do you wish customers knew about your profession or trade?
  • How much time it takes to do a job right. The cost of materials, tools, gas, good help, and just paying the fees to be legal. It all adds into the cost to do the job correctly.

  • What questions should a customer ask before hiring a professional in your trade?
  • Are you licensed and bonded?

    Do you have any references?

How long have you lived and worked in this area?

  • What would you recommend customers looking to save money?
  • f its interior work: Do you want the ceiling painting?

Can we paint the closets the same as the trim color and sheen?

Dark areas such as a closet usually do not need to be decorated unless you live in a home that has a 400-880 sq foot walk in closet.

Doors and casings included? Trim? or just walls?

Will you pull down the mini blinds and put them back up?

Take things off the walls? Take off switch covers and light switch covers??

  • Tell us about the project or job that you are most proud of (in the last 12 months).
  • Cabinet refinishing where we take old yellow oak cabinets and turn them into a dark cherry/mahogany rich color. We did 3 of these types of jobs in January and February.

Also, painted cabinets white and then glazed them in a darker color to somewhat enhance the design of the doors and drawers.

We just completed a 3500 square foot home interior with 7 colors. Beautifully decorated home done prior to the owners moving in.

  • What areas of your trade do you specialize in?

  • What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?
  • We will check the job 1-2 years later to make sure it is weathering properly. Some jobs we provide a limited warranty. We stand behind our work whether there has been a warranty provided or not. Paint may have a lift time warranty, however, it often is non-transferable if you move or sell the home. Limited warranty just means we fix the area that failed not redo the whole job. We will also provide touch up paint at the end of the job to keep at the home for future needs.

  • How many projects do you average in a year?
  • 40-75 depending on the size and magnitude of the projects. We have done more homes, rental homes, rehabs, investor home flipping jobs this year so far. We have some larger jobs coming up at mid-year for commercial repaints, and apartment exteriors.

  • Tell us something customers may not know about you.
