Questions and answers
- What brands or products do you work with?
In terms of keeping up with the latest in business and economic news, I keep updated with publications such as The Economist, Business Week, The Wall Street Journal, and many more!
- How did you get started?
My career in Management Consulting began years ago when I was in college. I was working two jobs at the time; one being a waiter for a large corporation that offered dining and lodging to their own clients. I had the opportunity to listen in on business presentations from several of their executives and consultants. I was amazed of how many people called themselves "consultants", when all they merely did was offer a quick 15 minute motivational speech and overuse "buzzwords". And to top it all off, they charged fees in excess of $15,000. I knew that I could do a better job and give my clients a better service.
- What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?
I always follow up with my clients to see how the implementation of new plans is going. Getting started is easy, it's continuing what you started is where the challenege usually lies. I also like to keep my clients updated with the latest news in economics. And if there are ever any questions, I am always just a phone call away.
- What areas of your trade do you specialize in?
I specialize in strategic Business Planning, Business Stabilazation, Management and Human Resource Consulting, and Business Analysis. Regardless of the size of your business, we can help you.
In addition, I also offer seminars in Customer Service and in Management Techniques.
- What types of jobs are the most common?
My most common assignments that I handle are high employee turnover, financial instability, disorganization, and lack of business strategy.
- What information do you recommend to have readily available before looking for a professional in your trade?
I strongly recommend having your finacial documents available, as well as any facts and figures pertinent to your organization. With this information readily available, it is much easier to get started and it lets your consultant know if it is something in which he can help you.
- What certifications or professional affiliations do you have?
I am an active member of the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce.
- Tell us something customers may not know about you.
Before I make recommendations, I strongly urge my clients to allow me to give a full thorough analysis of their organization and its operations. When I was consulting for a restaurant, I put on an apron and a hairnet and worked in the kitchen cooking and prepping food. That helped me greatly in observing their operations. And it also helped humble me a little bit by letting me know that sometimes you just have to do what it takes to get the job done!
- What questions should a customer ask before hiring a professional in your trade?
What is your background? What can I expect once I hire you? What can you offer that other consultants cannot? What fees do you charge? Is everything kept in strict confidentiality? Can you help me in the areas in which I am experiencing difficulties?
- What do you wish customers knew about your profession or trade?
Understand that we are there to help them. Sometimes people can be very apprehensive to constructive criticism and change. But the vast majority of my business comes from repeat customers and referrals, so client satisfaction is very important.
- What would you recommend customers looking to save money?
Have and idea on what you are looking to address and improve with your organization. It saves a lot of time and work, which will save you money in the long run.
