About Black Fam Ent
DJ Wak of Black Fam Ent offers DJ services for special events.
I hail from Elizabeth, NJ. Born and raised around music, I touched my first turntable at the young age of 10. Fascinated by what I saw and heard, I began to love the art of DJ-ing. Although I could not afford a pair of turntables so I could begin to pursue my dream, I created my own DJ setup with 2 home stereo record players.
At the age of 17, I received my 1st pair of Technic 1200 turntables and a Gemini mixer. With the help of a local DJ and mentor DJ Willie Wonk, I started hosting local parties in the area and quickly became a familiar name and face of the club and party scene in the Northern part of Jersey in 1999.
In 2003, I moved to Hopewell, VA, and eventually started my own entertainment corp, which is now known as the Black Fam Ent. I proudly serve the VA and NC area with the gift of great music, entertainment, fun, and memorable moments. Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae, Go-Go, House, Club, and Oldies but Goodies are among the genres I work with.
I have an extensive music selection that can set the right mood for any event or occasion. If I don't have it, I can get it. If I can't get it, the song doesn't exist!

Questions and answers
- What would you recommend customers looking to save money?
Choose me. I have the best prices around, and I work with any budget. I DJ for the love of music and making people dance, not for getting rich.
- How did you get started?
I have always had a great love for music and entertaining. So the first chance I got, I learned how to DJ and been in love with the art ever since. I DJ for the love, not the money. That's why my prices are the best!
- What do you wish customers knew about your profession or trade?
How much fun it is and the hard work that goes into it. Who said hard work can't be fun? I love what I do.
- Tell us about the project or job that you are most proud of (in the last 12 months).
I did a surprise birthday party, and I had all age groups up and dancing as always. The beautiful part about that was the elders of the family wanted to pay me extra to bring my equipment to the house and do an after-party in the backyard for an additional 3 hrs. That was great!
