About Nelson Construction
Nelson Construction, LLC. is a "dependable" contractor specializing in home additions and residential remodeling, including handicap access modifications such as: doors, custom showers, lifts, ramps, and elevators. It is estimated that over 50 million handicap people live at home with a wheelchair or a walker. Majority of those people do not have any handicap lifts, ramps, elevators, or any exterior or interior remodeling to help them get around. Traditional residential home builders usually do not consider the needs of those who are elderly, disabled or handicapped. When making these types of modifications, it is necessary to hire an access remodeling contractor that is familiar with making home additions.
We understand physical difficulties and know how hard it can be to get around, which is why we want to make your life easier and accessible! Your home can be remodeled and customized to accommodate your individual needs. With access remodeling your house can become more accessible with a few minor home modifications and additions. We can even handle exterior remodeling and deck installations. Give us a call today and we will walk you through the entire process!

- What would you recommend customers looking to save money?
Bluegrass Stone Creations is constantly striving to pass savings to our customers and complete projects on or below budget. The key to saving money begins with a functional design.
First, plan a project based on what space and function you need and nothing more.
Second, Be thorough in planning your project. Adding to your project after work begins only disrupts the flow of the schedul. The goal to maintaining any project budget is to avoid an add-on or change orders. Keep work schedule on target.
- Tell us about the project or job that you are most proud of (in the last 12 months).
We are proud of all of the projects we have completed. I first considered describing an elaborate 3,000 square foot shelter house set poolside at the home of a local merchant in Southeast, Ky. This outdoor living space featured 14' wide fire place, outdoor kitchen and wet bar, stamped flagstone floor, handmade decorative stone columns and Hemlock tongue and groove ceiling complete with outdoor furniture. BEAUTIFUL! We are very fortunate to be apart of such an amazing project.
Instead, I decided to describe a project where when complete the owner was very unhappy.
For, Brad Horn, of Lexington, KY. We poured a free formed radius flagstone patio, side walk, Jacuzzi pad and stone fire pit. After completing the the project, the owner stated two complaints.
First, he wanted the surface under the Jacuzzi perfectly level, at which we set to slope for draining 3/4" in 12' for heavy rock texture concrete.
Second, he noticed a hairline crack after the forth day. The crack ran parallel to our control joint but did't break where designed.
After a few trips back we were able to mend the concrete and completely satisfy the customer.
And this is the reason I'm most proud of this project. In a world where customer service is shoved to the wayside, we dedicated to customer satisfaction. Although a business can't satisfy every customer every time. We will make every attempt too.
- What are the most frequent questions you get from customers? What are the answers?
I bet thats expensive, "Isn't it?"
I'm am happy to say, NO! Transform your home with the budget you set.
- How did you get started?
Bluegrass Stone Creations began when owner Tim Nelson discovered "Concrete Artisan" Dave Montoya the and founder of the StoneMakers' Corporation of Manchester, N.H. After several years as a general contractor, we began pouring decorative concrete such as stamped driveways, interior floors, and concrete counter tops. Meanwhile studying and researching some of the leaders in the decorative concrete industry. Through this research we stumbled upon a video of a man teaching a group of stone masons how to stand a 4' high retaining wall, out of wet, concrete w/o forms. After that, we dedicated to the StoneMakers movement and never looked back. StoneMakers is more than a corporation of "Concrete Artisan Dealers" it's a family of artists sharing a passion to create using concrete.
