Hello, I'm Bob Koncius for Bob’s PC101. I've been serving the greater Triangle Area since 1988.

Since 1998, I have been coaching the use of PCs, programs and accessories like printers and cameras and more to all kinds of people here in the Triangle Area.
I can show you how to protect your PC from Spyware, Viruses and Spam issues. I can help you have data backups, photo, music documents use and how to store files, fix them up, print or email them!
I can do most repairs on your PC in your home or business place. That lowers your costs! I am not a pricey technician with the higher overhead (building, insurance or employees). I am a coach, teacher and mentor with informative techniques with sessions.
I can offer one-on-one teaching method in a language you understand. I show you how it is done and how we got to the result we wanted. I will then provide you with a step-by-step explanation and repeat this until you are comfortable.
I will not rush you because I know you will not retain our work and I may in fact help you be at ease with these new-found tasks. As my customer, you get free and unlimited phone call support 7 days a week.

- What do you wish customers knew about your profession or trade?
To many of my competition will try to sucker you in with that $10 - $50 charge that gets you to carry the Computer to them and once they get their hands are on your Computer the Issues that you went in with are multiplied as are the charges!
When was the last time you heard of that Oil change place that all of a sudden with your car on their rack that you need brakes you need a muffler you need a .....!
If you sign paper work for them to fix your Computer/Printer you must read it carefully first as you may be surprised by the untold fees they charge you with before they release your Computer/Printer back to you!
Be aware of those places that advertise give them $10-$50 to do a clean up/tune up of your PC (that takes about 10-15 minutes in most instances).
- How did you get started?
I used to work for PC Warehouse of Raleigh. After noticing that some clients needed help in set-up and operation of their computer, I spoke to the owner who gave me permission to do this as an added service.
After about six months, many wanted to hire me. I made up a price plan of $60.00 per single hour and $120.00 or $40.00 per hour in a 3-hour block to be used as client needs!
And so back in 1988, I started Bob's PC101!
- What brands or products do you work with?
I work with all makes of computers, software, printers, cameras and all other accessories for the computer.
I also can build for you and service the White Box which is custom-made for your specifications!
- Tell us something customers may not know about you.
The Coaching work I have long found rewarding and fun because I have helped some one enjoy their PC as I do! An hour session with you seams like 10 minutes to me!
At first when I visit you, for the first time whether it is a repair or training request I take 2-3 minutes to analyze the performance of the PC and if needed I do a tune up to keep the Computer fast and like it was when brand new! I explain what I do and how it benefits you as I go. That costs you nothing in additional charges to what I quoted you!
Because of over head the technical going rates in Raleigh these days is $80-$125.00 an hour My charges are almost a half to a third of that period! If I had to rebuild your PCs Operation System it is a $150.00 charge and that Is for 3.5-4 hours work that includes when I can your saved Data!
Why do I take the extra steps that I always have? Very simple I am not the only one providing these services in the Triangle. I must EARN your trust, your ongoing business and referrals towards new business!
- What certifications or professional affiliations do you have?
Besides on-the-job education and computers being a hobby, there is no formal certificates related to teaching of the computer use or set up!
The repairs at my level are also OTJ. But, no worries I do have a local shop (Raleigh) that support my repair efforts if I myself am stumped (happened only once during my almost 25 years of experience).
- What types of jobs are the most common?
Teaching the use of the Computer and it's Programs.
Speeding the Computer up by getting rid or shutting down Spyware!
- How many projects do you average in a year?
I never counted as at first this was a hobby more then a occupation! But since I started a data Base I have near 40 clients at one time or other in a active and or inactive status.
- What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?
I offer free phone support and a referral program that can earn you free coaching hours! Follow-up calls on service to assure that the outcome was better then the Client had hoped!
- What would you recommend customers looking to save money?
Hire me first before the bog box nerds and geeks as their charges are in many cases twice to three times my rates!

How will you be better then the class or seminar I just attended and paid for?
Unlike a seminar were a third of the class grasps everything, Another third understands about half at that time and retains almost even less of it when back at their PC and of course the last third could not grasp (no fault of their own)any of what was said. Two thirds of the attendees wasted their time and money because that seminar was set up to pace with the top third not the lower two thirds that paid well to be there! If you were not taking notes or given written guides to what was taught you retain even less! Add to that the lack of proper follow up work!

- What areas of your trade do you specialize in?
HOW AM I DIFFERENT? One on one teaching method in a language you understand (not Techno speak). I will show you how it is done and how we got to the result we wanted, I then have you at you own keyboard going through the task you just seen me accomplish with step by step explanation and repeat this till you are comfortable. Then you and I will repeat this with you still at the keyboard and you’re writing down the step by step in your own language so that you can retain and do these tasks as if I was not there.
I will not rush you because I know you will not retain our work and I may in fact help you be at ease with these new found tasks. I have found that If I can make the session fun you will be more relaxed and retain more of what is shown you!

I have found that most of my clients are older women who want to stay in touch with their family and some cases want to run small businesses from home.
