About College Prep Tutoring

If your goal is to earn your highest possible test scores, I can help you. I taught test-prep classes and tutored students for Kaplan Test Prep for over 4 years and have been tutoring privately for an additional 12 years. My SAT and GRE students' average score increase is over 120 points per section! Would you be excited about a score increase like that?

I am pleased to offer the most elite level of tutoring to my clients at a rate lower than what they would have to pay if they had hired me through a national company like Princeton Review or Kaplan. I work individually with my students to create customized strategies for test preparation and test day.

It's not too soon to think about these tests!

Please contact me ASAP so we can schedule your ideal appointment time.

Thanks,

Kathryn

Questions and answers

  • How did you get started?
  • I took a GRE-prep class with Kaplan and saw my scores go from "good" to "phenomenal." I was so excited about the fact that test-taking is a skill that can be taught that I started working for Kaplan right away.

  • What would you recommend customers looking to save money?
  • As the saying goes, "you get what you pay for." This applies to test prep in that you could pay less for a group class, but you might be wasting a lot of your time listening to other peoples' questions and concerns. In one-on-one tutoring, you are all that matters.

  • What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?
  • Many of my students have me help them with their college or grad school application process. I have helped in all facets of the process, from formulating a list of prospective colleges to pressing "send" on the Common Application after one final proof-read.

After each and every tutoring session, I send a follow-up email to both my student and his or her parent(s) detailing the material we covered, what the student should do for homework, and when we will meet again.

  • Tell us about the project or job that you are most proud of (in the last 12 months).
  • I helped the #1 High School basketball player in the state of California to finish high school with the GPA and SAT scores required to play in the NCAA with the school that recruited him with a full-ride scholarship.

  • What questions should a customer ask before hiring a professional in your trade?
  • What kind of experience does the tutor have?

How long has he or she been working as a test prep tutor?

What is the success rate of his or her students?

    Does the tutor have references?

  • What areas of your trade do you specialize in?
  • I specialize in all areas of standardized test prep. The majority of my students are preparing for the SAT, the second-largest group is college students or graduates preparing for the GRE, GMAT or LSAT.
