Questions and answers

  • What do you wish customers knew about your profession or trade?
  • This trade has several companies that are "Mow-N-Go" and these companies more often than not, are unaware of the harm that can come to your lawn if the grass is cut too short, and too often.

A lot of companies or people servicing properties do not understand that chemicals like weed in feeds can only be used during the winter, because the temperature in Florida causes the weed killer to imbalance and treat all plants and grass as if it were a weed.

  • What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?
  • We believe it is always necessary to keep in touch with our clients throughout our contracts.

We check our properties every week before we service again, so we can make sure that the property is being taken care of properly.

From watering to fertilizing, we make sure that the quality of our edge is exactly at the 45 degree angle and properly spaced from the sidewalk or driveway.

  • What types of jobs are the most common?
  • Basic lawn care is the absolute most common requirement, but very often we receive calls for extra treatments because the property does not look like it is up to par.

  • What questions should a customer ask before hiring a professional in your trade?
  • Are they licensed, are they insured, and how much experience do they have? If possible, always ask for letters of recommendation.

Making sure that the company you are hiring has a greater understanding of the materials they are working with, all types of grass and plants have different watering and trimming requirements.

Understanding these requirements can extend, and or improve the quality and health of your lawn, checking to make sure that the sprinklers are set up and watering properly will improve the color of your lawn.

  • How many projects do you average in a year?
  • We usually take care of 7 or 8 large projects a month. They range from irrigation, landscaping, and or pressure washing commercial facilities.

  • What areas of your trade do you specialize in?
  • We specialize in maintaining the property. We make sure that the property is getting the right amount of water, and assure that each type of grass is cut above the minimum height level to prevent bugs from harming portions, and or your entire yard.

  • What information do you recommend to have readily available before looking for a professional in your trade?
  • The size of your property (1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1 acre), the type of grass you have on your property, and the growth period of grass.

    Growth period: April 1st - October 31st

Cutting heights: St. Augustine, 3-4 inches (no more the 1/3 of the blade should be cut off).

Watering: Watering is best done in the early hours (3-6am) for about 15 to 30 minutes, 2 times a week. Because of watering restrictions, and temperatures in FL, sometimes it is better to train your yard to go with less water.

  • Tell us something customers may not know about you.
  • The owner of the company is an artist, and uses his artistic abilities, knowledge of plants and soils to help remodel your property with a proper balance of tones and shades that draw your attention to the contrasts of the house.

  • What brands or products do you work with?
  • Our lawn equipment is all Echo brand. When we do irrigation we prefer to use rainbird systems, but we have had clients that prefer to use the oracle irrigation systems.

When we use fertilizers, we do not fancy certain brands, as we check the balances in the property, and check which we nutrients the yard actually requires.

  • Tell us about the project or job that you are most proud of (in the last 12 months).
  • We started landscaping a dollar general store, and we managed to completely re-irrigate the entire store, before pulling up the dying grass and re-sodding the full 3/4 acre property. Then we built several planting beds for the property to improve the FD vision.

  • What are the most frequent questions you get from customers? What are the answers?
  • "My yard is yellowing and I tried treating it but haven't gotten any results, how can I fix this?"

In my experience usually yellowing is caused by too much iron in the water, or the property was over fed with chemicals at the wrong time of the year. Often, it is the owner who added weed and feed to property in the hotter months (Mid-March/Mid-September.)

  • How did you get started?
  • During the construction craze, my family formed a subcontracting company for KB, and Horizon Homes.

We spent several years setting bases and creating footers for their homes. We eventually branched out in to the irrigation areas and started installing irrigation systems for Horizon Homes, and slightly later began installing the sod for them as well, with great success.

We watched the companies that HH hired to service the properties after we finished setting the grass, and saw the improper ways the grass was being maintained and slowing moved in to servicing lawns.

  • What would you recommend customers looking to save money?
  • Saving money is not always the best idea, the quality of the work is best. Although on that note it is possible to find quality services at a lower price.

We as a company try our best to continue the amazing quality of our services, and offer cheaper pricing, as well. We offer coupons monthly for new subscribers.
