About Designs By Milque

My name is Krystal Nichols, and I offer interior design services for Designs By Milque – a new up and coming freelance interior design company.

I have consulted and assisted on kitchen and bath remodels as well as furniture and materials selection, space planning, design concept development, color selection and more.

Now, I am looking for projects to build my own portfolio as a designer and not a consultant. I have worked on several solo projects, but I want to branch out on my own to build my own brand even further.

My new company, Designs By Milque, will specialize in residential design with a focus on bedroom and bathroom suite design. I am currently working in the Antelope Valley and Los Angeles areas.

With a detailed consultation, a short questionnaire and a little time to get to know you, I can create a space that is completely you.

My goal is to tailor my designs to each client’s style and individual needs. If you are looking to redecorate a space I can offer you my ideas and knowledge to help you create a beautiful timeless look.

Because I am a new designer I am offering my service at a rate that accommodates your budget for the time being. I am looking to prove myself in this industry and gain a reputation through clients I have worked with.

I am so confident in my education, skills, and ability. I am willing to go the extra mile to prove myself. I can perform every duty of a designer with years of experience. I am a hard worker.

I have a passion for design and I get great joy from making a space functional and beautiful. I can work with any budget you have and I promise a job well done.

Questions and answers

  • What are the most frequent questions you get from customers? What are the answers?
  • The most frequent question I get from customers is why design is important. I usually tell them that we create beautiful homes that become the heart and blueprint in the lives of most people. We help to make the American dream come true.

  • What certifications or professional affiliations do you have?
  • I am a certified interior designer with an associates degree in design.

  • Tell us something customers may not know about you.
  • Something consumers may not know about me is that I love to create rooms with moods. It is very important to me to create spaces that evoke a specific "feel" when you walk in. I also like to design bedrooms, bathrooms, and spas. I love rooms that need to have a feel of peace and serenity and these rooms fall in that category.

  • What types of jobs are the most common?
  • The most common jobs are living rooms and bedrooms. These jobs come across more often then others.

  • How many projects do you average in a year?
  • I average about 2-3 projects a year.

  • What brands or products do you work with?
  • I am able to work with any brand or product. I can go high end or thrift shop. I work through inspiration and accessibility. With these two things, I can make anything happen.

  • What do you wish customers knew about your profession or trade?
  • The thing that I wish customers knew about my profession is that we take a lot of time and energy to become quality designers. I have a passion for design and have put in many years to do this job. Designers are very knowledgeable in making spaces functional and beautiful.

  • Tell us about the project or job that you are most proud of (in the last 12 months).
  • The project that I am most proud of is the living room redesign. This room started out with no life and no flare. I was able to pick a color scheme that gave to room a brighter and more airy feel.

  • How did you get started?
  • I started in the interior design field in 2008. I went back to college and got my degree in design. I became certified as an interior designer. I worked with a design company, gaining quality knowledge and experience. Now I have branched out and decided to start my own company.

  • What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?
  • I provide any answers that the client may need about how to maintain their designs. This includes how to hair for certain fabrics, stone, tile and any other furnishings we decided to use in the space.

  • What questions should a customer ask before hiring a professional in your trade?
  • The questions a customer should ask a professional in my trade is their price point and experience level.

  • What would you recommend customers looking to save money?
  • For a customer looking to save money I would suggest to turn nothing into something. My motto is to take old things and make them new. A gallon of paint and a little time can make a world of difference in any space. If they are unable to afford new and expensive things, I can come in and recreate the whole space with a very low budget.

  • What areas of your trade do you specialize in?
  • My area of trade is interior design. Designs By Milque, will specialize in residential design with a focus on bedroom and bathroom suite design. Through me, you will enjoy the professional expertise of a seasoned designer without the big price tag.

  • What information do you recommend to have readily available before looking for a professional in your trade?
  • The information that I recommend to have readily available before looking for a professional in my trade is just to have an idea of your likes and dislikes. It is my job to create and execute beautiful spaces, but it is nice when a client can be clear on what they absolutely dislike. It makes it easier to make sure the client is happy in the end.
