Questions and answers

  • What brands or products do you work with?
  • I use state of the art Music equipment such as "Mackie" and "KSC".

  • What would you recommend customers looking to save money?
  • If you are on a budget, then you should look carefully at the cost any DJ may quote. High price does not mean better service. Hire an experienced DJ with quality sound equipment and a outgoing personality that specializes in personal service.

  • What questions should a customer ask before hiring a professional in your trade?
  • Most Important: Does your company carry a Liability Insurance policy.

My company is insured with a $1,000,000.00 liability insurance policy.

How many years of professional experience do you have?

I have 30 years of experience. I began my music career as a DJ for Armed Forces Radio spinning records for our service members.

Will you assist us in pre-planning our event?

My assistance is always available to you by telephone or in person. If you have a question please feel free to contact me. It can be a Disc Jockey question, or a question on any of our other services.

Can we meet our DJ before the event?

I will meet with you through a prescheduled appointment approximately one month before your event to cover all of the details necessary to ensure that the event happens smoothly. I will also maintain contact as necessary to check on and schedule details for a trouble free event.

Does the DJ make all the announcements?

The DJ will make all the announcements (from the Grand Entrance up to the Final Goodbye) as long as a prescheduled list of announcements has been provided to the DJ. I will also keep track of the time schedule, take requests from the guests, and make sure the "Guest of Honor" is the center of attention all night long!

Do you have a variety of music?

My Songlist has some 30,000 selections to get you started. All the songs are separated into categories. If you want a personalized songlist you will need to provide a list of songs by title and artist a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the event. You can choose as many songs as you like. Also, you can have the DJ take requests from the guests.

Can we bring our own music?

    Absolutely!

Can you provide entertainment for the ceremony?

Yes. I am a dance instructor also and can lead the guest in learning a dance or performing the dance. I am also available prior to the event for private dance lessons (extra service charge will apply). And "KARAOKE" can be added as a great way to entertain.

Will the DJ be properly dressed for the occasion?

It is important that your DJ looks the part by dressing in formal or semi-formal attire (your choice). Be sure to specify the type of apparel that your DJ should wear. There is a small service charge for Tuxedo Formal Attire.

    Do you use professional equipment?

Yes, I do. There is a difference between home audio equipment, cheap/inexpensive equipment and the professional equipment that I use. My equipment is top of the line professional mobile DJ equipment capable of producing clear quality sound even at high volume levels.

Can we control the volume at the event?

Yes. If at any time you would like me to raise or lower the volume, it would be my pleasure to do so.

Will our DJ be there on time?

Any professional DJ should arrive an hour before the event's scheduled "start time," to allow plenty of time to set up. Setting up and taking down the equipment is included in the cost of the evening. As "Your" DJ, I will stay as long as you like even if the party is going to go past the scheduled "end time". The additional cost will be based on the contracted hourly rate or advance agreement.

Does the DJ take any breaks?

The DJ does not take breaks that will result in no music or entertainment for your guest.

  • I began my DJ career with Armed Forces Radio spinning disc for the service members entertainment.

  • What areas of your trade do you specialize in?
  • Delivery of quality service and music. Please remember, just because it cost more money doesn't make it better. With a DJ, experience provides the best quality and You shouldn't have to pay an outrageous price to get quality service.

  • What information do you recommend to have readily available before looking for a professional in your trade?

  • I have a list of frequent questions on my website with answers that usually covers the area of questions people have. www.djrandy4less.com

  • Tell us about the project or job that you are most proud of (in the last 12 months).
  • Planned and executed wedding and reception with 1 weeks notice.

  • Tell us something customers may not know about you.

  • What types of jobs are the most common?
  • No job in the music industry is common. There will always be things that are unique, interesting and fun during every event. The 5 P's are very important when Djing: Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance.

  • What do you wish customers knew about your profession or trade?
  • I have 35 years experience in the music industry as a Dj. There are many people that think they can go out and buy a bunch of music equipment and voyla they think they are a DJ. Being a DJ takes dedication and time to gain the ability to provide excellent customer service. It also takes an outgoing personality and someone that isn't afraid to look silly when trying to entertain 100 or more guest.
