I am serving all of Southern California.
Questions and answers
- What would you recommend customers looking to save money?
Look around for Djs in advance. Don't wait last second to look for a Dj because a smart Dj can spot someone who is desperate and will try to rip you off. Plus providing your own speakers and lights will cut down the cost of most Djs.
- How many projects do you average in a year?
I would say about 50 a year. I want to bump up that number greatly though. I feel I have a lot to offer to a waiting crowd.
- Tell us something customers may not know about you.
I love working with kids. I am a camp counselor on the side and my first few gigs were at my local YMCA doing middle school dances. Meaning I have an arsenal of clean music.
- What do you wish customers knew about your profession or trade?
I wish customers knew the type of pressure that are on Djs.The pressure is fun most of the time but some things are out of our hands. If something electrical goes wrong we get booed. We are there to make sure everyone has a great time and the last thing we want is a silent room.
- What are the most frequent questions you get from customers? What are the answers?
Do you take requests? Yes I do. Can you stay an extra hour? Yea I can but that is an extra $50 to the agreed total.
- What areas of your trade do you specialize in?
Any kind of dance music whether that be top 40, electro house, dubstep, or hip hop. I am all about making sure everyone is dancing and having a good time.
- How did you get started?
I started producing music on my laptop three years ago. Eventually I wanted to make it big so the following year I bought my Traktor S4 and started by doing small time local events.
- What brands or products do you work with?
My controller is a Traktor S4 and I use Traktor 2 software. My headphones are Stanton Pro 3000s. Typically I will use Marathon Speakers.
- What information do you recommend to have readily available before looking for a professional in your trade?
There are three things that you must have ready if you want to book at Dj. One have the money you wish to spend and maybe a little more just in case. Two have a venue that you will 100% have for you date of the event. Three make sure you have a definitive date. As a Dj I would not want to work for someone who isn't prepared.
- What types of jobs are the most common?
Weddings are pretty common. Everyone is getting married and everyone looks to Craigslist to find that entertainment.
- What questions should a customer ask before hiring a professional in your trade?
What are your rates? Do you have a website? How long have you done this? How large is your music library? Do you take requests?
- What certifications or professional affiliations do you have?
I am currently working on getting certified. Also I am trying to build up my reputation so I can create professional affiliations with someone.
- What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?
I provide clean up in my area so it is cleaner than when I showed up. Also I have no problem socializing with the other people that are there.
