Questions and answers
- What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?
I ALWAYS have new mixes available for free download. Also, return customers (or customers who refer future clients to me) get an additional 15% off their next event with me, and every event from that point forward. I like to keep a good relationship with my clients.
- How did you get started?
I got started DJing when I graduated from high school and began attending New York University. I was always in love with music, but hated going to parties that could have been so much more successful if the music was right. At that point I took it upon myself to purchase my first DJ setup and teach myself how to DJ. After a few years and hard work and dedication, I have become one of the few respected female DJs in New York.
- Tell us something customers may not know about you.
I 100% taught myself how to DJ and if I could go back, would not change that one bit. Teaching myself how to DJ has helped me develop a respect for the craft, and create my own skills, instead of just copying someone else's.
Also, I am a student at NYU studying Economics. I am very intelligent and can not only speak properly over the microphone (trust me, I have seen some crazy stuff), but also am very organized and professional when it comes to running my own business. Those things are important too when looking for the right DJ.
- Tell us about the project or job that you are most proud of (in the last 12 months).
Last year I was the DJ for my swim coach's memorial service ("after party"). It obviously wasn't the typical gig, but it was an absolute honor to do that for her since she always loved my music and the fact that I was a DJ. I'll never forget that.
- What are the most frequent questions you get from customers? What are the answers?
Do you take requests during the party? If we have a special song and we want to burn it on a CD, would you be able to play it?
Yes to both questions. I always encourage my clients to fill out my Song Request Sheet and will also bring request sheets for the day of the event so that I can take requests during my set. I can incorporate requests into my set very easily. As a DJ, you can never predict what the people are going to like. I always bring my entire music collection (I have multiple hard drives) to every event for this reason. If you have a song you want to burn onto a CD or even an iPod, I have no problem with that.
- What types of jobs are the most common?
I get a LOT of sweet 16s and weddings, but also old school house parties for the adults. I am a young lady with an old soul. I can definitely throw down an old school throwback party! I love it!!!!!!!
- What questions should a customer ask before hiring a professional in your trade?
The client should definitely ask for demo mixes! If a DJ cannot provide you with a sample mix of the genre of your choice, DO NOT hire them. More likely than not, they do not possess the skills they claim to have.
- How many projects do you average in a year?
Too many to put a number on. I DJ every chance I get. I love it!
- What brands or products do you work with?
Serato, Pioneer, Rane, American DJ, Odyssey, Vestax...
- What do you wish customers knew about your profession or trade?
A great DJ does this first because they love music & their craft, and secondly for business. If you meet a DJ out there who is solely interested in the monetary side of your event, and will not help you out with planning or entertainment options, they are not a true DJ. Don't fall for it.
- What areas of your trade do you specialize in?
HipHop, R&B, Reggae, Club, Spanish (Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Reggaeton) Pop, House, Oldies but goodies, 90's throwbacks, Techno, Top40...PARTY MUSIC!
- What would you recommend customers looking to save money?
Absolutely. There are so many DJ services out there looking to make anywhere from $850-$2,000 for an event, but offering the typical cookie cutter DJ services that you could find on craigslist for $100. I am a true believer that what's most important, is providing my client with the best party rocking DJ services they have ever experienced. I can do that and at the same time only have to charge $250 for the night because ALL of my clients are REPEAT CUSTOMERS. That's good business. Too many DJs out there aren't looking at their company as an actual business.
For $250, I will make you and every guest at your event dance until you can't walk in the morning. And at the end of the event, not only will my client be more than pleased with my performance, but other guests will more than likely be interested in hiring me for future gigs. That's true business sense. Some guys out there just don't get it.
- What information do you recommend to have readily available before looking for a professional in your trade?
I'd say a good idea of the type of services you are looking for. Don't be afraid to tell the DJ what you want. It's YOUR event. It helps us know what you are looking for, require from us, and what we can do to make all of this possible.

When DJ Queen B was hired for NYU SAACs Date Auction, I knew that the executive board made an incredible decision. At the event, DJ Queen B was entertaining and experienced. She took requests and played music that made the attendants get up and dance, nearly all night long. She is passionate about her music and her job, and because of this, I believe she is the best in the business. I have no hesitation about who I would hire for any events, from birthday parties to weddings, DJ Queen B is the absolute best in the region. I look froward to attending another party where she is DJing. I highly recommend her. –Patti Meringer, SAAC Member

Bianca recently was the DJ for a charity event hosted by the NYU student-athletes. She did a great job playing music that catered toward her audience and was very accommodating to all requests that came her way. Bianca was very professional, prepared and willing to work with us to make this event a memorable experience. As one of the event planers, I received many compliments on the event's success and much of that credit is due to Bianca for creating a high-energy environment all night that kept people entertained. We were very impressed with Bianca and would recommend her to anyone who wants to host an event with great music and energy. Thanks DJ Queen B!
