Questions and answers

  • What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?
  • We offer at a minimum a 1 year labor warranty. We can find out if any vehicle has a recall on them, thru sites we use to keep our diagnostic equipment updated. Only do we buy quality diagnostic equipment, because of quality, and they must be able to perform the same or similar to the equipment that is used by dealerships.nnIn many cases, we do offer limited lifetime warranty on all labor. All customers who has referred others to use our service will receive up to a 10-15% discount on their next repair or upkeep services, such as oil change, coolant and transmission service. Repeat customers will get a 12% discount each time they bring their vehicles back to us for servicing.

  • What questions should a customer ask before hiring a professional in your trade?
  • Ask how they get rid of their hazardous wastes (oil, old gas, engine coolant) and mostly, listen to how your mechanic asks you to explain what you experience while you were driving your vehicles. Remember, a good mechanic will ask what you observed as problems before they recommend any service.nnAsk where your mechanic or shop gets their parts from; what kind of warranty and discount that could be offered? Ask to get a written estimate first, as many will try to beat their competitors' price.

  • What information do you recommend to have readily available before looking for a professional in your trade?
  • Always have your vehicle year, make, model, sub model VIN information available. It helps us to get more information on your vehicle with just a few numbers and letters from your VIN, such as engine size, transmission type and in depth information on the vehicle specifics.

  • What brands or products do you work with?
  • We use GM, Chrysler, Ford, Toyota OEM, MasterPro, Dorman, BWD, Wagner brake parts, Redlin, Lube guard, AC Delco, B&M, Holley, MOOG, SSBC, ARP fasteners, and Aerospace components for racing apps.

  • How did you get started?
  • Don got started thru taking automotive, small engine repair and architectural design and drafting in high school. He worked construction, and took automotive tech classes. He has done many vehicles, for friends, family and friends of friends; a few roadside repairs; rebuilt classic cars to be road-drivable; and changed over carb engines to become fuel injected.

  • What areas of your trade do you specialize in?
  • We specialize in stock and drag racing engines, custom engines, differential, brakes, front end service, body repair, 29 point inspection, explaining fully to each customer and what needs to be done to their vehicles.nnWe will always show you the part that has been replaced, without our customers asking to see their old parts, unless the replaced part is used as a core for the replacement part. Our customers will have the option to keep or have us destroy the old part. We do keep up with Illinois environment protection agency rules for disposing of hazardous wastes as we will be applying for the hazardous waste generator license and permits.

  • What would you recommend customers looking to save money?
  • I would recommend timely tune ups, oil changes as recommended every 3000 mile, transmission fluid change and filter changes every other oil change
