- What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?
Laura likes to stay in contact with her clients after they use her services. She will follow up with you to see if you are sticking to your guns and following the new habits she helped you develop. She also lets her clients know if she has any new programs that may be better suited to them.
- What questions should a customer ask before hiring a professional in your trade?
People interested in personal training should ask whether or not their trainer has a certification. It is potentially dangerous to train with someone who doesn't have the knowledge for training you. They can seriously injure you if the proper preparations are not made. You should also ask where they are willing to train you and how much their services costs. Just because they charge more, does not mean they are necessarily better. You should also ask about their previous experience. If they have a history of clients, you are more likely to get better results.
- What would you recommend customers looking to save money?
Laura recommends utilizing her 3 month package. The best asset of the 3 month package is it greatly reduced the amount per session as well as gives her clients a weight watchers subscription.
- What are the most frequent questions you get from customers? What are the answers?
What is the best way to lose weight?
Answer: I make all my clients keep track of their calorie consumption and that they're burning more than they're eating. Food journals are a good way to do this as well as free online tools available. For clients with bigger weight loss goals I have a 3 month weight watchers subscription included in their program.
Nutrition and exercise go hand in hand when training clients and both are equally important.
How many calorie should I be eating each day?
Answer: I do a BMR calculation for all my clients based off age, height, and weight to determine how many calories they burn daily functioning.
- Tell us something customers may not know about you.
Laura is a loving wife and mother. She has a 2 1/2 year old who keeps her very busy and an active husband. She also has several years of karate experience too.
- How did you get started?
Laura got started in personal training right after she became pregnant. She has been into fitness since she did several years of karate in high school. After she gave birth to her son though, she became serious. She first got her AFPA certification and then she got the NASM certification.
- What certifications or professional affiliations do you have?
Laura has a certification with the National Sports and Medicine Association and American Fitness Professional and Associates certification. She is also certified to use and train with the TRX suspension system.
- What do you wish customers knew about your profession or trade?
Exercise is not as straight forwards as it seems. You need to be very careful when you work out. It doesn't take much to pull a muscle or injure yourself. Plus, exercise alone will not lead to weight loss. You need to change your diet.
