Questions and answers
- What areas of your trade do you specialize in?
We specialize in all phases of plumbing service, new construction, remodels, commercial and residential. We recently just bought a new camera machine to locate possible problems or breakages in sewer pipes.
- Tell us about the project or job that you are most proud of (in the last 12 months).
One of the projects we are most proud of is Family Dollars. We got the contract to do all of the Family Dollars in Mississippi. We have become a valuable asset to the contractor. We have been told that we have done such a great job for them that they will not be looking for any other plumbers in Mississippi if they develop more buildings.
Right now we just got awarded 4 more in North MS. We also have a gas station in Alabama we are currently doing for the same developer.
- What questions should a customer ask before hiring a professional in your trade?
Are they licensed and insured?
Ask if they have any references?
How many repeat customers do they have?
How many employees do they have?
- How many projects do you average in a year?
Right now in our economy, we are averaging about 300 jobs a year. We plan to do more and give others an opportunity to work with us. We have an average wage for the beginner and an average wage for the Licensed Plumber. We take pride in our work and our employees and we try to keep everyone working that shows us the same gratitude.
- What certifications or professional affiliations do you have?
James has his master license in 5 states: Michigan, Alabama, Louisiana, Missouri, and Florida. He has all his certifications to go with his licenses such as Class A Boilers License, Med Gas and Back flow Prevention.
He has worked with some of the best plumbers in the United States that wrote some of the articles in our Plumbing code book. He was one of the only plumbers to be nominated to plumb a house in glass pipe to ensure the states logic on code changes.
- What brands or products do you work with?
We work with Moen, Delta, Kohler, Hans Grohe, Price Feister and many more. We work a lot with copper tubing as well as Pex for water piping. We also have the knowledge to work with Vic Tallek Pipe.
We have the experience to work with all materials for drainage systems such as PVC, Cast Iron, Clay Pipe, Glass Pipe and Orange Berg. We work with gas lines to from Galvanized Pipe, Black Iron and Ward Flex which is the flexible gas line.
- What do you wish customers knew about your profession or trade?
We wish that customers would realize that we have the worst and the dirtiest job, whether it is dealing with fecal matter or a clogged drain with hair in it. We have to stay up-to-date with hepatitis shots. There is a lot more to the job than just making sure that crap goes downhill, pay day is on Friday, and not to chew on your fingers.
- What would you recommend customers looking to save money?
In this economy everyone wants to try and save money, but on the other hand of doing things cheap, cheap can cost you much more. If it is just an amount for a service call, there are a lot of plumbers out there that have cheaper rates. But in this field, it is much better to try and get at least 3 bids from plumbers and try to go with your gut 1st and then at least the middle priced guy. Cheaper is not always better.
- What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?
Customer satisfaction. We provide 3 call backs to assure that the customer is still happy and that no other problems have happened. Call backs are as follows, 2 week, 4 week and 8 week. We strive in making sure the customer realizes that we are not going to take their money and run.
Plumbing is our way of life and what better way is there to reassure your customer that you will be loyal to them and NOT sell them something that they do not need and follow up with them.
- How did you get started?
We literally got started with $300.00. Our first job was about 5 years ago and it was a complete tub replacement. It cost us exactly $289.00 and we did the job for $1000.00. The customer was so happy with job that he calls us on a regular basis to service other rental properties.
We have several repeat customers that we deal with on a daily basis and they all tell us the same thing. At least we answer our phone and we show up on time.
