About J. Thorn Home Inspections

I am Jennifer Thorn of J. Thorn Home Inspections and I am an ICC Certified Residential Combination Inspector with 9 years of experience in residential and light commercial inspections. My full-time job for a small municipality allows me to remain an ICC member in good standing and to review, and sometimes attend current training. I am familiar with all of the codes adopted by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs that should be adhered to (for new construction and remodels) statewide.

For older homes I inspect, I notate on the report where there are things that are not up to current code, but were properly built and installed during the time period the home was constructed. If I find items in disrepair I will notate and will take pictures to go with your report, for an extra fee, if you wish.

I charge $300 for a basic (approx. 14 page) inspection on homes 1800sf and under, $500 for the same report on homes 1800-3000sf, and *$600 for homes over 3000sf.

• This report will be longer, solely based on the additional rooms / floors / sq. ft. that are to be inspected.

Extras that come with each report are the review of property, drainage issues (I am also GSWCC Erosion Control - Red Card - Certified), property records from the local assessor's office (if available online) and all items are available either loaded on a cd / flash drive, hard-copy mailed, or sent via email as an attachment for you to use as necessary.

I am available primarily evenings and weekends for your convenience. I am located in West Georgia and am familiar with most areas of Northwest Georgia, West Georgia as well as West Central Georgia, Metro Atlanta and areas along all of the major interstates above Macon.
