Questions and answers

  • What certifications or professional affiliations do you have?
  • I do not have any specific certifications however I do work with a couple of partners that are professional builders and really can do any type of yard and home projects the customer requires.

  • What do you wish customers knew about your profession or trade?
  • We work hard at what we do and take profession pride and service with a smile to you. I personally realize that stump management is a process and when you finally get sick of those stumps sitting there then make a call and get rid of it..

  • Tell us something customers may not know about you.
  • I am a college business professor by trade and educate minds however I enjoy the physical labor aspect of stump removal and really enjoy the smile I put on my customers faces for a job well done. I also have my 10 year old son that loves the work too:) He recently started a doggie poo removal service. Yes there are a lot of dog owners that want that regular service to rid the yard of the dog waste!

  • What questions should a customer ask before hiring a professional in your trade?
  • What are your rates?

Do you clean up the area you grind?

Will you machine ruin my yard?

How soon can you get to the job done?

Do I get a multi stump discount?

    Do you offer referral bonus?

  • What types of jobs are the most common?
  • Usually a stump or two are the normal jobs however I have done jobs which required 15- 20 stumps to be ground. Do not be afraid to ask to add more as you go as multiple stumps discounts should be the norm and usually you can get a pretty good rate as the stump grinder is already on site...so ask:)

  • How many projects do you average in a year?
  • Depends on what the customers need. I keep busy with weekly work and sometimes mutliple jobs in a day. I do work with tree companies so an oncall attitude is necessary in this business!

  • How did you get started?
  • A simple desire to rid the yards of unsightly stumps and have the homeowner have a complete yard instead of having to always ride around those tree remains.

  • What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?
  • Ongoing repeat customer discount, referral plan where they earn a bonus, and satisfaction guarantee.

  • What areas of your trade do you specialize in?
  • Tree Stump grinding, shrub removal, yard chores, can do onsite log splitting, tree trimming removal, landscaping needs as mulching, retaining walls, wood panel fence building, deck building too.

  • What information do you recommend to have readily available before looking for a professional in your trade?
  • Please understand that when you ask for your stump to be ground you should know the approximate diameter of the tree an how high off the ground or low to the ground it is....a grindable stump should be no higher than 3-6 inches off the ground for larger stumps...although it can be done it will be a bit more expensive....state your location as travel time is involved and how soon you need it done. You do not have to be home to get your stump removed. However, payment should be made the same day.

  • What brands or products do you work with?
  • I use a variety of products at the job sites. I use STIHL chain saws and brush cutter, Toro Stump grinders, and of course the necessary rakes, trailers, and tools of the trade.

  • What would you recommend customers looking to save money?
  • I would say if you are looking to save money on various yard projects give me a call:) Actually this is true but be smart, call a couple of services and get your quotes. You do not always have to go with the cheapest quote but feel comfortable with the person you are dealing with and ask if they can meet another competitors price. If you have a budget you need to work within, then do not feel afraid to say that. I work with customers all the time in regards to this....

  • Tell us about the project or job that you are most proud of (in the last 12 months).
  • I once did a tree stump that covered almost 8 feet around including roots that were the size of small trees. My son was with me and we laughed at the picture we took of it. Also we started a shrub removal project which lead to building a wood paneled fence for a customer. She and her husband were absolutely thrilled in how we transformed her back yard. Now she wants a brick fire pit and a deck addition. We're always willing to please.

  • What are the most frequent questions you get from customers? What are the answers?
  • Most frequent questions is: How much to grind a stump? Do you do multiple stumps? How far do you travel? What is my rate? How do you tell when a tree should be removed? When do you work? Can you match a price quote?
