- What do you wish customers knew about your profession or trade?
With the economy being as hard as it is right now, many expect very cheap labor. While Johnson City Handyman is certainly not the most expensive, our labor rates range somewhere in the middle. Please remember that as in most all cases, you truly will get what you pay for.
- What areas of your trade do you specialize in?
We specialize in kitchen and bath remodels. We also do fantastic work with tiling, linoleum and decks. There is no project that is too big or too small for us. From hanging a flat screen television to a complete kitchen remodel, you will be thrilled at the quality of our work. We do not leave the project until you are 100% satisfied.
- What types of jobs are the most common?
The most common types of jobs are flooring, drywall, and remodels of kitchens and baths. In the summertime, decks become very common, either fixing them or completely building a new one.
- What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?
We provide a professional invoice with detailed work performed. We follow-up with you to ensure the job is to your satisfaction. We also offer a one-year guarantee on our labor, something that is hard to find elsewhere.
- What would you recommend customers looking to save money?
I would recommend that you do not wait until the last minute to get things fixed. Maintaining your home in general will save you very costly repairs in the long run.
- What information do you recommend to have readily available before looking for a professional in your trade?
Many times, you can get a fairly accurate estimate over the phone if you can provide specific details about the project you need. Knowing any square footage, linear feet, etc. might save you some time. However, always make sure you get a final estimate in writing after the contractor has come to your site and fully evaluated the project.
- What questions should a customer ask before hiring a professional in your trade?
Always ask for references that you can speak with, preferably at least 3.

Do they work with social media?
Are they a licensed business in the city or county they work out of?
Be leery of those who do not, as they may not be in business for the long-haul, you need someone you can truly count on.
Make sure that they will provide you with written estimates and invoices, both on company letterhead. Without this, you have no means of protecting yourself.
