About Lays Home Remodeling & Repair

Lays Home Remodeling & Repair is a full home service. We cover all aspects of your home--from simple repairs and maintenance to full additions and room remodels.

The owner has been in the construction industry for the last fourteen years and has covered, supervised, and performed all areas of this field. We do contract subcontractors that are skilled in their area of expertise and only employ those who are legal to work in the U.S.

We provide services for Knox, TN, and surrounding counties. We strive for excellent customer service and are willing to go the extra mile to achieve this. We’re looking forward to working with you on your dream project.

• What questions should a customer ask before hiring a professional in your trade?
A.

• Always ask for references of past customers. When it comes to estimates, always get them in writing. Ask what the progressive track of the project will entail.

• What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?
A.

• We offer a fully backed labor and materials warranty that covers all work performed by the company. Materials are covered by manufacturer's warranty. We also offer a one-on-one service to our customers that the owner oversees to address any questions or concerns that the customer may have.

• What areas of your trade do you specialize in?
A.

• We specialize in room conversions. This includes framing, plumbing, electrical, drywall, flooring and more.

• How many projects do you average in a year?
A.

• Every year is different. Some years there are more than others it just really depends on the size of the projects. But on average it is about 20-25 a year.

• Tell us about the project or job that you are most proud of (in the last 12 months).
A.

• There are several photos of my largest renovation here on my page. It was an older rancher style home in west Knoxville that basically we gutted half of the house, moved and removed walls, reconfigured the layout of the home and gained another satisfied customer in the process. We added a new laundry area in an old bedroom enlarged the master bath and added a large walk in closet in the master bath. Installed new tile throughout the home as well as custom entertainment area and lighting.

• How did you get started?
A.

• I have been in the construction industry since I got out of high school in 1998. I have worked for several different contractors in the Knoxville area and have done many new homes and renovations in the area. After the housing market crashed a few years ago I was laid off from my job at Saddlebrook Home Builders and decided to step out on my own.
