Questions and answers

  • Tell us something customers may not know about you.
  • I have had a beard since I was a kid and have worked for myself, mostly word of mouth, for most my life. I understand what most customers want from a contractor. My folks had their own business and taught all us kids about work and what's important.

  • What questions should a customer ask before hiring a professional in your trade?
  • How much, do you do the work or is it farmed out? Does your crew speak ENGLISH? How long you been in the field. Give me a couple of your customers I can talk to!!

  • How did you get started?
  • Born this way, diesel, dirt, and sawdust....That, and I didn't have what they needed to play pro ball.

  • What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?
  • What ever is needed!! We have many many repeat customers. We have worked 4 different house's in a row in more then 1 neighborhood. People like our work and want us back.

  • What do you wish customers knew about your profession or trade?
  • How tuff it is to make a few dollars!! Parts cost, all the ins. lic. tax, fees, road tax, etc, it all adds up fast. From what I have seen, the quarry's make most the $'s....Them and the gas guys.

  • Tell us about the project or job that you are most proud of (in the last 12 months).
  • Go to my web site and look at over 1400 pictures of our work. Every job is special to us!!! levelonthelevel.com

  • What brands or products do you work with?
  • We try to use U.S.A. made, but sometimes due to cost we have to go outside the country. We buy as local as we can. Our 40 some odd tires all come from Molalla tire, just a mom & pop outfit.

  • What information do you recommend to have readily available before looking for a professional in your trade?
  • Know what you want, or what you want to achieve, have some idea so we have something to work with at the beginning and work from there before any real work starts. Though things change as work goes on, sometimes.

  • What would you recommend customers looking to save money?
  • From what I have herd, in this field, you are lucky to get what you paid for. Ask questions then ask more questions, get stuff written down. We like the man and wife to be there, seems like most the time the wife gets the last say.

  • What types of jobs are the most common?
  • Backhoe work. Tractor work, drive way repairs, excavation, septic tanks and leach fields, site prep, demo work

  • What areas of your trade do you specialize in?
  • Excavation, water/rain problems, drains, pot holes, gravel drive ways, French drains, land clearing, demo, most farm app...All septic work, {not pumping} See my web site levelonthelevel.com

  • How many projects do you average in a year?
  • 10 to 15... 3 to 7 day jobs

way too many... 1 or 2 day jobs

We like bigger jobs and more complex jobs, but small jobs get our same attention to details and work.

  • What are the most frequent questions you get from customers? What are the answers?
  • How long you been growing the beard?

    a while

  • What certifications or professional affiliations do you have?
  • 189688 ccb number, general contractor

    38877 septic installer lic.
