- What questions should a customer ask before hiring a professional in your trade?
What is this REALLY going to cost?
Most mechanics will give you what seems to be a reasonable quote, then why do you always leave the shop paying twice as much as the quote?
We pride ourselves on our honesty and customer service.
- What brands or products do you work with?
Craftsmen, Snap-On and Mac tools are frequents in my arsenal. In my opinion, the success of any given job comes down to a few things: First being safety, second is using correct and quality tools and equipment, third comes down to the quality of work that the tech provides.
- What do you wish customers knew about your profession or trade?
The importance of finding someone to work on your car that you can trust with your life. It's very important to hire someone who will care about your own safety as much as you do.
- How many projects do you average in a year?
700-1000 a year
- Tell us about the project or job that you are most proud of (in the last 12 months).
Complete restoration of a 1978 Corvette Anniversary Edition
- What types of jobs are the most common?
The commonality of jobs performed on vehicles varies greatly, only because of many, many factors such as the vehicle's maintenance history and the way the vehicle is driven.
We try to keep the frequency of big jobs down by increasing our low-level maintenance, so we prevent the problem before it becomes a problem.
Each and every one of our customers will be provided with an individual service portfolio, which will include all of the necessary records and schedules to keep you car where it should be -- on the road!
- What would you recommend customers looking to save money?
My only recommendation is to find a mechanic whom you feel comfortable with. Find one who not only performs when on-the-job but will also dedicate his time solely to getting you back on the road as quickly and as safely as possible.
Let's face it, auto repairs can be expensive and although at Mitchell's, we pride ourselves in providing fair and honest prices for any budget, it may not be worth all of the terrible consequences that may come along with hiring a 'backyard boogie' mechanic when the risk includes death.
- What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?
Complete vehicle inspection and chassis lubrication, all fluids topped off.
I ensure that all components of the vehicle are functioning safely, efficiently and properly.
