About P5 Photography

P5 Photography is a husband and wife photography team, specializing in:

Both Matt and Kim have education in photography. Kim achieved a degree in Photography from Southern Oregon University and has experience working for a studio and a professional lab during college. Matt has taken several formal courses and is an award winning photographer.

  • How many projects do you average in a year?

  • We haven't been an official licensed company for a year yet. But if it gives you an idea: we have 7 shoots in the next 2 weeks.

  • What are the most frequent questions you get from customers? What are the answers?

  • What are your prices?n It depends on the type of shoot:nas of 9/2012 the prices are as follows (these prices are subject to change January 1st of each year:nnFamilies: $100nBoudoir: $50nOne child/newborns: $50nWeddings: starting at $600nEvents (reunions, birthdays etc): starting at $250nSeniors: starting at $300.

  • What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?

  • Our clients get a engraved (with your names!) USB drive with ALL your photos. P5 will edit between 5 and 10 photos for every hour we take photos. If there is a photo that you would like to see in a different application (black and white, sepia, etc.), please don't hesitate to ask, we want our clients to be 110% happy!

  • What information do you recommend to have readily available before looking for a professional in your trade?

  • A date you want to book and an alternative date, where you want your shoot (or an idea of what type of location you like), how many hours you want (for weddings)

  • What do you wish customers knew about your profession or trade?

  • Anyone can be a photographer, just like anyone can paint a picture or cut someone's hair... it's how well they do it that matters.

  • What certifications or professional affiliations do you have?

  • Kim has a degree in photography from Southern Oregon University. nnWe don't believe in paying to be a part of a photography professional affiliation... we believe our clients should come to us via word of mouth... what better way then by the praises of our clients?

  • Tell us about the project or job that you are most proud of (in the last 12 months).

  • What a tough question! We are proud of every photo shoot we have done: from a 90th birthday celebration, high school seniors, to brand new babies, weddings and family photographs. Each shoot has its own challenges and they all have huge rewards!

  • Tell us something customers may not know about you.

  • When you book an event or wedding with P5 you are booking TWO photographers - for the price of one. Often times you will get two photographers for family sessions or sessions with mulitple children - sometimes having two photographers is awesome to capture those special moments... but sometimes like when shooting newborns, one photographer is enough.

  • What brands or products do you work with?

  • Kim has a Canon T3i and Matt has a Canon T2i. nWe have several different lenses for the cameras and are currently using Paintshop Pro for photo editing.

    Do I get to see all my photos or only the ones you think are good enough to show me?

  • What would you recommend customers looking to save money?

  • P5 gives you an engraved thumbdrive with ALL your photographs that you can take anywhere to have prints made... with that said: we encourage you to purchase your larger prints (8x10 and larger) through the lab we use out of the bay area in California. The prices are only a little more than that of a big box store... and the quality is worth it!

  • How did you get started?

  • We actually decided to become a business at the insistence of a client. Someone that had seen our photography of our little girl and of shoots we did for our friends. Our client is a business banker and was so encouraging and helpful through the process. Thank you Pam for guiding us towards our dream.
