  • Tell us about the project or job that you are most proud of (in the last 12 months).
  • The addition of a bathroom in a part of our unfinished attic adjoining a finished room. He delivered on time a beautifully appointed and quality constructed bathroom. Our goal was to build a room addition that didn't look like a room addition . We wanted it to look like it's always been part of the house. This was especially challenging, since we had a small area to work with and had to work around slanted roof beams, a/c ductwork, and incompatible existing plumbing. Out of a 10'x13' space, we were able to carve out a bathroom and a hallway leading to the attic on one end and the finished room on the other.

Every inch counted in such a small space to fit in a large vanity, tub, toilet, linen closet and clothes closet, and we expertly worked around any lack of space problems that arose and made everything fit beautifully.

We showed patience and diligence in finding solutions and wouldn't rest until I was happy. We were amazed at how spacious and beautiful our new bathroom looks.

There’s no need to request by calling us and asking you to beg us for an ‘unofficial’ in-house guide of ‘how to hire’. We were already publishing in many newspapers; when the internet was just getting started.

  • What information do you recommend to have readily available before looking for a professional in your trade?
  • The first thing, a consumer should ask is whether they are professional licensed contractor and if they say that they are, make sure they can prove it or call the City of San Antonio Development Services Department at 210-207-1111.

Here is what you need to ask; "are you an approved builder or a home improvement contractor that’s licensed with the City of San Antonio Development Services Department?”

And ask this too: “what is your licensed number and when does it expire?" Write it down and call the number above to verify and tell them that this is part of your process of hiring a contractor.

The second thing, a consumer should ask is if the service professional has references. Make sure you get a very long list; they should have a contact name or names, the address, the city, phone numbers, what was done for that client and the date it was completed.

Next, are pictures with previous projects are also very important.

Also, ask if they are a debt-free company.

Lastly, ask them "how long have they [you] been in business under the current business name and how years have they [you] been doing this business?"

Here is a new question that no one is asking, "how long have they had their [your] web site?” Why ask this question you may asked. Because this is another way to tell how long the business has been around and whatever is printed should be documented.
