Questions and answers
- What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?
10% off next Detail of either a car or boat. Also we offer a $10 referral fee for anyone who talks about our company and we get a job through that conversation. We also offer washes, protectants and sealants if they wish to keep up with the work that we have just performed. Beginning soon we will have stickers for your next suggested detail or wash.
We will have air fresheners with our logo on it for every detail you hire us for. In the future, we will be offering a clothing line through our company if they wish to purchase a t-shirt, hats, etc. That of course will be a totally separate idea that we have had our eye on for some time and will make it happen as soon as we can. Until then we continue to pursue every job with full commitment and plain old hard work!
- What brands or products do you work with?
We like to use a lot of 3M products on Marine Projects. We also love Mothers and Meguiers products for doing cars and trucks. In the future, Scrubsters will be using and offering some of our own brand of detailing and cleaning products. We one day hope that our products and supplies, could someday be on the shelves for you to purchase for yourselves. When that happens, you can call yourself an official "Scrubster!"
- Tell us about the project or job that you are most proud of (in the last 12 months).
The project we are most proud of is pretty much all the boats and decks we do before the summer. Everyone wants everything they own to look great for the summer. At Scrubsters we try our very best to make them that way. To see people's reactions are our best compliments and we work hard to see those smiles.
Our other project is the contract we have with the Ocean County Vocational Technical School. We strive hard to make all of their vehicles looking great to represent the school as well as they should be. We are always looking for our next endeavor, which can always have the possibility of being one of our proudest jobs.
- What are the most frequent questions you get from customers? What are the answers?
Some of the questions we get from customers are:
Will this stain come out? Of course they do, all stains come out with the variety of chemicals and elbow grease we put into it.
Will it be shiny? Of course it will. With our 3 step method we will wash your vehicle, polish or compound it to bring out the shine and remove all the scratches and swirl marks left behind by some other company, then wax it to protect that shine.
Can you give us a discount? It all depends on the condition of the job and the amount of labor it would take for each job. If itís an easy job, then we would be more than happy to negotiate a new and better price for both of us.
- What certifications or professional affiliations do you have?
Along with our 8+ years of experience, we are certified in auto paint and also with fiberglass work. We are registered with the state and do a lot of test work along with giving away details to some of our neighbors in the state. Every now and then we also have raffles and entries for someone to win a free detail.
- What do you wish customers knew about your profession or trade?
I wish every customer who finds us or hears about us really know how much enjoyment and hard work we put into each and every job.
Like we stated before, we love what we do and love to see peopleís reactions when we are completed with any given project.
Nothing means more to us than a satisfied customer. We treat every job as if it was our own car, our own boat, our own house or deck, and I wish every client would know that about us.
We are perfectionists in a big way, almost stubborn if something is not to our liking. Having that attitude is what we are all about and it's what drives us to making every job flawless!
In our line of work and since we are a Mobile Company, we donít always get the year round work wish we had.
- How did you get started?
Scrubsters got started in 2004 as a general good idea to accommodate people who would have to wait in lines for a detail or drop their car off and pick it up later. We are one of the first "mobile" detailing companies in NJ. Since then, there has been a lot of knock off companies.
When we started, it was only us and one other company. I researched it and saw that there wasnít much competition, and so "Scrubsters" began. And we kept it growing by getting quality workers, better supplies and just extra sweat and blood to be the best company for your job requests.
Since then we havenít looked back and we continue to research new and better ways to service our customers.
- What areas of your trade do you specialize in?
- Boat Detailing (compounding, polishing and waxing, also for autos)
- Auto Detailing (headlight restoration, etc.)
- Boat Painting
- All Power Washing (homes, decks, driveways, lots, lanes, etc.)
- Deck Cleaning and Restoration (power washing or sanding, staining)
- Gutter Cleaning
- Interior Home Painting
- What would you recommend customers looking to save money?
We would recommend getting a Full Detail on your car at the beginning of summer, end of the summer and after the winter, then you will have nothing to do but just get a wash once in a while.
If you keep getting car washes all the time, you'll wind up spending more money than to just get it detailed with a couple coats of wax which will last you more than 3-4 months.
Companies who have a fleet of vehicles can save money on the amount of cars done. Just like anything else, the more you buy, the more you save!
- What information do you recommend to have readily available before looking for a professional in your trade?
The information a customer should have available on them is the current condition of their car, boat, home and to let us know what it is we can do to make the job you hire us for satisfying to you. Other than that, all a customer has to do is ask us questions and we will be straight forward and honest on how everything will come out and if itís to their liking. Also a customer should make sure that the company in our trade should be there on time and answer any questions they may have.
- What questions should a customer ask before hiring a professional in your trade?
- How long will it take?
- Do you have any references?
- Average price in appropriate condition?
- How much for detail on cars?
- How much per linear foot for boats?
- How much per square-foot for decks, homes?
- Do you take your time doing a good detail or go on how much the price is?
- What types of jobs are the most common?
The most common types of projects or jobs that we get are swirl marks, scratches on paint. Carpet stains and odor removal are another of our biggest requests.
Boats are very big before the summer with the nice weather, as are Deck restoration projects because we find a lot of people with boats and decks that just love to be outside and entertain with their families and friends. And if our work can help them enjoy everything the summer has to offer, then we are right there ready to make that happen.
- How many projects do you average in a year?
Scrubsters, on average, do about 15-20 projects a week, not including the current contracts we have each and every year. So in one year , we probably do anywhere from 300-500 jobs, but itís also based on the economy, in which we try to help in every way we can, and the weather on any given season can also dampen our jobs. But we will go through great lengths to get as many jobs as we can, mostly to build our reputation in the community and the state, as one of the top companies you can hire for some of those difficult projects. We want to be noted as a reputable company for anyone who needs work done or a company that someone will not hesitate to refer people to.
- Tell us something customers may not know about you.
Customers may not know the mileage we put on our vehicles and the sacrifice we take to make it on time, every time. When a customer makes an appointment, we feel as if it should be kept to the very second. Nothing bothers us more than hiring someone for a job, making an appointment and then having to wait for them because of some poor excuse.
At Scrubsters it is our point to make it on time for every job and put in the necessary hours to complete the work at hand.
