About Steele Ballroom

Steele Ballroom teaches dance, one step at a time through private and semi-private lessons. James will bring out the dancer in you with a personalized dance program.

Our dance styles include: Foxtrot, waltz, tango, east coast swing, west coast swing, rumba, cha-cha, merengue, salsa, samba, mambo, argentine tango, Viennese waltz and more.

  • What are the most frequent questions you get from customers? What are the answers?

  • How long are the lessons? Do you teach salsa? Can you teach me to dance for my wedding? What are your rates? These are certainly not the only questions but this season have been the most common

  • I am very proud to say that I have an 80 year old student who dances fantastically, she moves with a spirit that revitalizes. So much energy and I'm proud to be her Instructor.

  • What certifications or professional affiliations do you have?

  • I am Ballroom Dance Instructor Certified as well as carry my own insurance as which allows me to dance at any location. covering my students, property and myself. I continue to practice every morning and train for the latest styles and sharpness annually. Dance is constantly growing and adapting I feel its important to embrace new styles, ideas and methodologies.

  • What questions should a customer ask before hiring a professional in your trade?

  • Are they certified? Are they Insured? Will they teach you what you want to learn? Are you obligated to sign up for a package? Will I get a full our lesson? These are questions I would recommend asking before you sign up with anyone for lessons.

  • How did you get started?

  • I began training at the North West Actors Private School in Seattle WA and later trained at PDC in Bellevue as well with private coaches. I began to teach shortly after. I have taught independently and with Arthur Murray & with Pacific Dance Center. I prefer the freedom of teaching independently :) and continue to build my new client base her in the beautiful desert area.

  • What areas of your trade do you specialize in?

  • Private & Group Dance Instruction. I specialize in Ballroom as well as Latin dances including but not limited too Tango, Waltz, Foxtrot, Cha Cha, Rumba, East & West Coast Swing to name a few.

  • What types of jobs are the most common?

  • Private Dance Lessons are especially popular. The attention you receive on such a lesson will help to expedite your learning. Come alone or come with a partner, my rates remain the same. A new Group Series will begin soon, please check back for that info or email your inquiry.

  • My New Student Special Offers a reduced rate of $60/hr Lesson for your first 4 lessons. You don't have to sign a contract, you don't have to buy all four up front. No obligation, lets get dancing!
