Questions and answers
- How many projects do you average in a year?
This is our first year in business, our goal that we have met is to service 8 - 10 custom websites per month, and so far we are on target with that wish. For our business listing and small business services appointments, we have the resources to add 60 new businesses per month. This process involves creating a custom essay that lets the consumers know what the business provides and how special the customers will be treated. We do not want to grow too fast because putting the businesses first is always our priority. While we need to make a profit, we never put that before the needs of our customers!
- What certifications or professional affiliations do you have?
Our principals have among them: Tamora Spalding, B.S. in marketing with almost 30 years of experience in the field supporting customers. Brian Nunes, B.S. in Information Technology, specializing in web development with 3+ years experience deploying web solutions, as well as 20 years serving the business world. Mindy Nunes, 15+ years of graphic design, print, management, and customer service experience. Allyn Florini, 30+ years of customer service and application development experience. Combining this talented team of innovative thinkers and doers was an excellent choice - they work together like a finely tuned machine.
- What do you wish customers knew about your profession or trade?
We know how many marketing, advertising, and web services calls you get at your business. It interrupts your work and ties up your business line. Additionally, some of those services may actually help, but we are all jaded with the onslaught of promotions that is happening in the world. Everyone is fighting to be at the top of the internet search, and against some very big national competition. Unfortunately, there is only one first page on any search, it is often reduced in size because the search engine includes ads before and after reducing the amount of space for actual search results. By joining a network to create a name brand that people can trust, we will be helping all of our sites achieve and maintain top search results.
- What types of jobs are the most common?
Our number 1 call is for affordable solutions to local business problems surrounding the cost of their internet presence. This is followed closely by software that is lacking in features that the users need, but the developers have put on a lower priority. Oftentimes the weight of these problems is outside the scope of the business owner. Why? Because a good business owner is busy at his/her trade and keeping up with the changes in this trade. Where we step in, is to say that internet presence should not cost thousands per year, and that is exactly what is happening. We want that money to be saved to the business owner can keep prices low, which will help his/her customers and gain him/her a reputation for putting the customer first!
- What brands or products do you work with?
We work with iPower Hosting Services because of their great customer service and their consistent technical support. We work with Vonage Phone services because they have proven repeatedly to treat us with respect and to go over and above to keep our costs at a minimum. We work with C. Bernard Global because they work hard to provide affordable solutions in legal care, prescription care, and tax advice which are areas we feel are crucial to consumers and businesses. For all other services, you may review our website - connectwithquality.com because when possible, we always hire our clients. This helps our network help us!
- What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?
We do not feel that our work is ever "finished" as long as their are issues disrupting our clients' ability to function in an efficient manner. Once a client, always a client. We repeat that we are always available to find solutions. Some solutions are included in their original investment and some have a nominal fee. It is imperative that our clients know that we strive to always have an "a la carte" fee schedule. We do not like monthly fees that straddle our clients' budgets, and usually those monthly subscriptions are designed around worst case scenario. Why should a good client pay extra to support another client? We keeps our costs nominal and help each client save money.
- What are the most frequent questions you get from customers? What are the answers?
Why has it become so expensive and difficult to run my business? Large companies that provide many of the services our businesses need, also have large overhead in providing those services. Keeping your services as local as possible, and joining a team of fellow business owners who share expenses is the most important priority to us.
Why is web development so expensive? We believe it is because "something is worth what someone will pay for it" is the answer. When you really don't understand a field of expertise, but you need the service, you may pay more for it in order to remove the potential burden. What we are providing is a new business model that seeks, as its primary goal, to reduce costs to businesses, while providing personal attention. We think it can be done!
- How did you get started?
We have watched the internet grow since its inception and been as annoyed with the problems caused by less than savory sites, or computer generated sites that have removed the connection of the human race. Technology should improve our lives, but instead, many people find that it makes it more difficult. We want to build a network that seeks to connect people to people again in a positive environment. We are small, but growing slowly and steadily, one person at a time. We feel that the most important aspect of our business is building one customer at a time in a solid foundation of trust and excellence.
- What questions should a customer ask before hiring a professional in your trade?
We want our customers to come to us with a list of annoyances that they feel interrupt or restrict the flow of their business life, and ask us about ways we can help improve each particular issue, no matter how small. When looking for internet help, they should always ask for referrals before hiring anyone for web design. This field is fraught with consumers who have paid good money and are left with nothing. Our customers should ask each company how many of their issues can be solved. Having one source to turn to for solutions will help them streamline their operations. No matter how small the annoyance, we want to ensure that a solution is within their reach.
- What information do you recommend to have readily available before looking for a professional in your trade?
A checklist of things that you want to accomplish. We are serious when we say that the starting point and the ending point are crucial. Knowing where your are (which we can help you discern), knowing where you want to be (which you probably know, but may need help putting in writing), are crucial to arriving at your ultimate destination. FOCUS! Prioritizing how you do this, and creating the steps to succeed are no mystery to those who have succeeded. We do want to encourage everyone to make this a part of every week. Our motto is 15 - 30 minutes a week to regain focus and review your accomplishments as well as set the goals for the following week will be what is best for your business.
- What would you recommend customers looking to save money?
1.) Make a list of expenses
2.) Make a list of your services
3.) Ask for a free consultation to review how we can help.
4.) Join a group or network that shares expenses and gets discounts for you on all your business needs.
If "location, location, location" is the solution for buying real estate, then "evaluate, evaluate evaluate" is the solution for saving money. Unfortunately, this can be a full time position! We are actively involved with local businesses in reviewing what choices are working for them and what choices are not working for them. We then share this information and additionally look for ways to make all of our clients' decisions work for them!
- Tell us something customers may not know about you.
We are people who care about people in the truest sense of the word. We respect others for who they are and ask that they respect us always. An elderly gentleman once said, "you cannot get a couple to agree all the time, how do you expect to get the world to agree?" To which we reply, we don't expect people to agree, we want to build respect for individuals, and find common ground for solutions that benefit everyone!
Sounds like a plan to us. We all share a common goal: a strong local community where people of honesty, ethics, and great service can find each other, introduce themselves, and share information that benefits us all.
- What areas of your trade do you specialize in?
We offer small business support, and are working to alleviate as many frustrations as we can for our small business owners. We also offer web design services that let someone grow and explore their return on their investment slowly. We customize and train them to do their own general maintenance so they don't have an enormous monthly fee. We believe local businesses are the backbone of a healthy society and we want to ensure that they are strong. Our specialty is finding affordable and effective solutions that will be one source to turn to when issues arise. This streamlines their operations, and having a company that responds on a personal level is crucial to a stress-free work environment.
- Tell us about the project or job that you are most proud of (in the last 12 months).
