I have over thirty-five years of combined experience in hard surfaces installations and hardwood wood refinishing. It still surprises me how others can impose outrageous installation prices for the kind of services I offer. I guarantee that the price of my services are very competitive.

• We work with quality brands that lead the industry in standards. We use Fabulon, Streetshoe, Shurline, Profinisher, Minwax, Zar and Sherwin Williams Wood Classic stains.

• What do you wish customers knew about your profession or trade?
A.

• That it is actually as skilled of a trade as framing a home. If you want a quality built home, you go out and get a quality minded framer. If you want quality flooring..go out a good a quality minded flooring professional.

• What would you recommend customers looking to save money?
A.

• Id recommend not to always look for savings on the front end of your purchase but instead look for what will save you money in the long term. All refinishers are not created equal. It takes skill, time and the right machines to get the job done. Saving money by going with the lower price in refinishing will get you just that...a lower price job.

• What areas of your trade do you specialize in?

• Hard surface installation. Including hardwood installation and refinishing as well as installation of Engineered, Laminates, VCT and Tile.

• Are most common job is refinishing of old flooring or site finishing flooring in newly laid unfinished flooring.

• What information do you recommend to have readily available before looking for a professional in your trade?

• Now what you are looking for in the type of flooring you want to have in your home. An example would be knowing if you want true hardwood or a laminate and also know your sq footage and a couple of color schemes you have in mind.

• What questions should a customer ask before hiring a professional in your trade?

• Some very important questions to ask are as follows. Do you have verifiable references? Do you have proof of insurance? Do you own your own equipment?

• Tell us something customers may not know about you.
A.

• That I am a first generation floor man. No one stood over me and told what to do and what not to do. I learned through the school of hard flooring knocks and stuck with it through determination, persistence and a commitment to doing the best work I could do and I still hold true to that way of thinking.

• Tell us about the project or job that you are most proud of (in the last 12 months).
A.

• We traveled two hours one direction and two hours back home to complete a flooring project for the wife of a soldier for three days in a row. It was a surprise for him and the floors turned out so beautifully, we were invited back for a BBQ and to celebrate his homecoming.

• How many projects do you average in a year?

• We typically average about 40 to 56 projects a year. Ranging from the average refinishing to installations totaling over 5000 sq ft and everything in between.

• How did you get started?
A.

• I began refinishing hardwood because frankly I did not have the money to pay someone thousands of dollars to refinish the floors in my first home. It was an old Mission style home that I named "Eleanor". She was beautiful to me but the hardwood floors were in bad shape. I called in a professional hardwood floor refinisher to give me an estimate. The number he gave me was so out of the park, I decided right then to do them myself. Had I ever done sanded hardwood floors before - Nope!

  How did they turn out – well lets just say they were my first floors. I did however, get compliments on them but best of all, I saved myself thousands. Several floors later my friends began asking me to sand and finish their hardwood floors and I realized there was a need that should be filled. Everyone should be able to have beautiful floors whether the floors needed installation because they were prefinished wood or sanded because the wood was unfinished or in bad shape and people needed that at an affordable price. So I started a Hardwood Refinishing and Installation business offering a good service at a good price. Everything from sanding. staining and finishing to installing prefinished wood, tile or laminate/engineered installation. We even offer refinishing wood floors without sanding.

• What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?

• We offer full home cleaning on large projects, which include vacuuming vents, wiping down window seals as well as walls and cleaning windows if needed.
