I'm a proud father of two children. I'm a Christian, country boy raised Southern Baptist. I'd like to think I learned a lot from my now deceased pastor, David Landrith, who taught us not to be the typical finger pointing judgmental Southern Baptists we were once known to be. I'm a college graduate. My dream is to go to law school and lobby for change! My "pipe dream" is to become an airplane pilot and reposes high end luxury items like the wild guys you see on the TV show Airplane Repo. I haven't decided whether to follow my real dream or the pipe dream yet! Whichever I may choose, I will always enjoy running my little ol' roofing construction company and I hope, one day, to hand it down to my children and them to their children.
We can taylor almost any project to work with the customer's goals and financial limitations. We don't go cheap and won't sacrifice workmanship just because a customer's budget can't finance the project. If we can't finance the deal and there are no options, we either put the deal on the back burner, or work small areas at a time, over time, to achieve the restoration goals the customer is seeking. Where there is a will, there is a way. Very, very rarely do we have to walk away from a deal because we couldn't make it financially work somehow, someway. We aren't the cheapest and aren't the most expensive. We are somewhere in the middle.
We completed a claim valued over $150k with 13 different trades, on a multimillion dollar home. The customer couldn't be happier and we are very proud at the quality and timeliness that the claim was handled.
We see more wind damage than anything. Missing tabs or shingles mostly. The most common neglected storm related insurance claim is hail damage. Most people don't know what to look for or think because their roof isn't leaking that it's not damage. It's always good to call an experienced contractor when you have strong winds or hail around your property. The inspection we offer is free, so use it to your benefit! We really don't mind or feel put out by people calling us or using this free service!
What warranties do you offer? What brand of materials do you use? What is your material warranty? Are you licensed? Are you insured? How long have you been in business? Are you BBB accredited?
There's really not much we need until we talk to the home or business owner, and figure out their needs and goals.
We double check for nails on the property. We offer a 5 year labor warranty. We come out to inspect the property after a storm, per the customer's request. We offer a free tarp service anytime customers or potential customers have a leak.
I worked for two other construction companies for almost 5 years, before starting Access Roofing.
When it comes to insurance claims, I wish customer's would sit back more and let us do our job. We love our customers! LOL :) That being said, a lot of people get nervous dealing with big construction projects and the high dollar amounts that these projects can cost. We get the job done and people are thrilled at the end of the process. But sometimes calling the adjuster or trying to find ways to save money and cut corners and cost can be counter productive. It breaks my heart when we lose a deal because someone "cheap" comes in and underbids us. What you don't pay for now, you will end up paying for later. Nobody wins when you go cheap.
Are my premiums going to go up? We tell them, not necessarily. If you haven't filed more than one claim in the last few years, your rates shouldn't go up. From what I've been told by many agents and adjusters, they mostly increase rates by area or zip codes. What does that mean for you? It means, if all your neighbors get new roofs from storm damage and you don't, your rates are still going up!
