About Airplus of California Inc.
Honest service, fair prices, no games. That's what I hope for whenever my family needs services. So Airplus is committed to running our busines the same way.
We know you have tons of choices. We also understand that value may start with cost $$ - but it's more than that:
1. Being friendly, courteous and considerate every time we are invited into a home.
2. Be clean, be prompt and don't use 'tech talk' to fog the air. We don't like it when people do that to us, so we work hard to be sure we don't do it to you.
3. Follow up, insure you were 100% satisfied with the work we were hired to do.
With over 85,000 installations completed, Airplus can find what the other guys miss. We hope you'll consider giving us an opportunity to be of service for you also!
Airplus can offer help with any HVAC installation or replacement, covering both residential and commercial applications. You can also utilize Airplus for service and repairs, maintenance and tuneups. We can also give a hand with Utility Rebate Programs (like SCE, SCG) and great financing (Wells Fargo, HERO).

Questions and Answers
What is important to know about your profession?
It's not so much what you bought, or how much you paid - it's really who you dired that will determine how well the HVAC gear in you home performs.Over 95% of the systems installed in California run at something less than 60% of the rated capacity. SO that means the dollar you paid for energy only yielded .60 cents in benefit. It's not that hard to reach 90% plus, but you need to know how to do it. And less than 5% of HVAC contractors have a clue.
What types of jobs are the most common?
Installation of new heating and air conditioning sytems (complete with ductwork, zoning, temperature controls) - that's our #1 activity. The #2 is routine mainenance of equipment.
How many projects do you average in a year?
We have about 100 active new home construction projects in Southern California, stretching from Bakersfield to San Diego. That work will allow us to install over 2,000 new systems in 2012. We also service our installation base of over 85,000 homes completed. That's about 8,000 service calls annually (including maintenance). So it's a bunch. Be we remain small enough that we have not caught "Big Company Disease". It's important to us to keep a handle on every event.. not just big stuff.
What are you most proud of?
While we really enjoy the high tech stuff, like being Factory Certified for Fuel Cell Installation (probably the only HVAC Contractor in USA for that).. it's actually really cool when you just take care of one person's very tough problem. That will carry you for weeks, here's an example:Good afternoon Jesse.
What questions should a customer ask before hiring you?
Here's what the California License Board Recommends:Are you licensed, bonded and insured in California? Here's what AIRPLUS Recommends:
- What is your Customer Satisfaction Guarantee?
- Are you a Factory Authorized Dealer (few are)?
- Have your technicians been NATE Certified?
- How many systems will you install this year?
It's a big team, with lots of cool stories. Some of us were in the military, others in manufacturing. In 1977 I left the boat repair business to become a Sheet Metal Apprentice, and over the past 35 years it's been a crazy adventure being an HVAC contractor.
How can we save money hiring you?
Maintenance is far more than changing filters. There's a huge payoff for having a real, qualified HVAC service company do a Precision Tune-up. The best part is most companies discount that work huge! So whether it's Airplus or someone else that you have found and trust.. really consider the cost of maintenance your cheapest insurance against high utility bills or unexpected (and expensive) breakdowns.
What do you recommend to know before hiring you?
Give some thought to what outcome you'd really like to see. Will you be in this home for quite some time? Having a bandaid repair is immediately less expensive, but often leads to huge bucks later. Most folks don't realize that HVAC is the #1 energy consumer in your home. More than washers, dryers, TV's or kitchen appliances. Please keep that in mind if your HVAC Contractor makes recommendations about how to save energy.
What we may not know about you?
We like dogs. Alot.
What kind of questions do customers ask you?
How do I operate my thermostat - that's our biggest inquiry by a mile. We can help (most of the time), either by walking you through how it's set up, or providing a missing manual that covers the whole enchilada.
Do you offer any service after finishing the work?
Most of our customers allow us to do maintenance or repairs if needed years after the installation is done. Since some of our systems are 25 years old now.. maintenance pays off! The oldest furnace we've encountered in replacements was a 1954 Carrier, still running. Having your unit last 60 years seems like a good run. We'd like for yours to make it that far too!
