Being a multi service contractor, Avalanche Contractors has had the pleasure of working with some of the best manufacturers in the roofing and insulation industry. With both the roofing and insulation trades being so closely related, several of our manufacturers produce materials for both trades. Certainteed is one of the major players in the roofing and insulation sector that provides us dual services. Owens Corning is also a giant in the industry that we frequently partner with. The project that we are most proud of with in the last 12 month period was the first project that the owner was not on site to supervise. We won't mention names for obvious reasons, but everything that could of gone wrong did. In the end, the homeowner was more than happy which is our goal on every project. On our side, we made some changes and revised our structure so operations run smoother. It was a first and a great learning experience for everyone involved and we were just thankful that we were able to be part of it. The focus of this story is to emphasize our willingness to make our customers happy. At any cost, whether we make a dollar or loose, our customers satisfaction is very important to us and always comes first.

This growth has put us in a position where we are taking on more work every year either thru word of mouth or the expansion of our online presence. You should be able to pick up if a contractor is short with you answering this question or tries to avoid going into detail. The more details you get up front and in paper, the less headaches you will have once the job is complete. Knowledge of the materials being installed is also very important to know and how they will perform on your home.
Avalanche Contractors began in 1998. In 1996, the owner Luis worked for an older established roofing company in the city of South Houston. That's were he learned about the trade and the correct ways to install a roof and flashing. The owner passed at the beginning of 1998 which resulted in the closing of the business. Luis ventured out on his own and Avalanche Roofing was born. Around 2001, Avalanche expanded into the insulation market and added Avalanche Roofing & Insulation. Today, Avalanche continues to expand its residential and commercial trades as Avalanche Contractors. Our phone has remained the same as well as our long list or satisfied customers and industry partners.
Avalanche Contractors services 95% of homes that were built before 2000. Builders that use inferior materials are meant to barely outlast your warranty. Being able to meet or pass local code does not mean you are getting quality materials or a quality installation. On the average, we insulate older homes that lack insulation, have inadequate levels of insulation, or their insulation has been damaged by fire/water. Our roofing division provides full roof replacement as well as roof repair services. On both, we contact our customers once we get another good storm, just to know they are doing o.k. With insulation, we also contact the homeowner after the sale, usually the day after or the next. We want to know their thoughts on how they feel their home once blown insulation has been added. Once installed, the difference is instant on how more comfortable your home feels.
More than anything would be the amount of experience that is needed to do a good job. We get calls thru out the year where the homeowner has attempted to repair their own roof or insulate their own home. First of all, you need the proper tools for the trade in order to do a professional job. On a large portion of roof repairs, we find glues and tar that has been applied to band-aid the situation. Glue will not hold your roof together. The sun dries it out and it will crack causing more leaks. Glues for roofs are not cheap. Call Avalanche Contractors and get it fixed right the first time.
Most important would be the material manufacturers information. You want to know who makes what and how it compares to other manufacturers. Any unanswered question hopefully can be addressed by your installer. Take some time and research the installation so if the installer goes into how the perform their work, it does not sound foreign. Have a notepad on hand to write down questions for the installer, but mainly to write down information given to you so you can verify or research when you have time. Don't just take someones work for it, do your homework.
My tenants complained that the second floor rooms were always 15-20 deg hotter than downstairs.
