Brands
Oh there are so many, but some of my favorites are: Ralph Lauren paint - they are quite a bit more expensive per gallon but there really is no equal in the diversity and color saturation in their paints. I also love CB2 they have a store in Santa Monica that I could spend all day in and be happy! I search all over, high and low, because you just never know where you will find the next amazing piece that perfectly fits a room.
Questions and Answers
-
What do you recommend to know before hiring you?
I touched on this earlier, but I think that talking to past customers is a key because they are the only ones that will give you the true behind the scenes look at what it is like to work with someone. In this business you have to have a good feel for the designer because you will spend a good amount of time with them and you want to know what that experience was like for someone else.

What questions should a customer ask before hiring you?
You should always ask to see some of their work and even more importantly you should ask for referrals. Not just a list of people that they have worked with, but an actual name and phone number of the person. Spend some extra time to actually call the referrals and ask them questions about the person that you are looking to hire. Did the job come in at budget? Did you enjoy working with them? Did the company meet or exceed your expectations?

What is important to know about your profession?
I think the biggest thing that people do not understand about design work is all the time and effort that goes into a project behind the scenes. It takes a great deal of time and effort to find just the right look that will make people walk in and say, wow, this is amazing. When all the customer sees is you doing the work there at the project site.
I had been working in sales and doing home design on the side on the weekends just because I loved it. A close friend of mine suggested that I take the leap of faith and start my own company and do it for a living. I have not looked back and have been busy ever since!

What are you most proud of?
We just completed a project in Old Town Scottsdale at the El Dorado resort where we were able to renovate 14 of their rooms. We were really excited about the scope of the project because we were able to do different themes for each of the rooms. This allowed us to really show off our creative side and go several different ways in our designs.

What kind of questions do customers ask you?
How much is this going to cost me? The very best advice I can give is to make sure that you have a budget in mind and that you stick to it. Be realistic about what you can accomplish for the amount of money that you want to invest in the project.

How can we save money hiring you?
The absolute easiest way to make a big change in a room is to paint it. It is the quickest and least expensive way to make a big impact. Also, do not make impulse buys when it comes to fining decor items for rooms unless you know in your heart it is an "it" piece. On numerous occasions I have been able to find the exact same look and feel and one third of the cost, just by shopping around.

What we may not know about you?
I love to play guitar. I have a couple of acoustic and electric guitars that I have in my office that I use to help keep me sane! Just kidding, but it really is an enjoyable way for me to decompress after a long day.
-
How many projects do you average in a year?
It is really hard to say because we have had projects that last for longer than 6 months that really consume lots of our time and others that are done over a weekend. The most important thing to us is that we treat all the projects the same enthusiasm, no matter what the duration of the project might happen to be. We want each design to be a reflection of our name.

Do you offer any service after finishing the work?
One of the really nice things that we have started providing to our customers is a detailed list of paint colors that we used in specific rooms, so if they ever need to touch up a wall they have the color code to be able to go to the paint store and get an exact match! We also provide a list of resources that we used to source the furniture and warranty information for those pieces.
