Questions and Answers
How many projects do you average in a year?
It is quite hard to keep track of the number of jobs we complete on average in a year, however we deliver the same quality service with each service call we complete.
Do you offer any service after finishing the work?
WE STAND BEHIND ALL OF OUR WORK AND HONOR ALL WARRANTIES! WE DONT JUST FIX APPLIANCES, WE ALSO LIKE TO EDUCATE OUR CUSTOMERS BY GIVING THEM TIPS AND ADVICE ON HOW TO PROPERLY MAINTAIN A GOOD WORKING APPLIANCE AND PREVENT FUTURE HEADACHES!
What types of jobs are the most common?
Based on our experience working on appliances, 75% of the time of most common problems with appliances are failure of electrical components due to normal tear and wear, and usually will cost a small fraction of the price of a new unit.
I HAVE BEEN IN THE APPLIANCE REPAIR INDUSTRY SINCE 2007. AFTER FINISHING A BASIC ELECTRICAL WIRING COURSE, I STARTED WORKING FOR A LOCAL COMPANY AS AN APPLIANCE REPAIR HELPER. IT WASN'T UNTIL AFTER 1 YEAR, OF HAVING COMPLETED A REFRIGERATION COURSE THAT I ACQUIRED THE NECESSARY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE TO FINALLY BECOME AN APPLIANCE TECHNICIAN.
How can we save money hiring you?
There are many things to consider when an appliance breaks down in order to make the smarter choice that will be cost effective.1). Consider the over all condition of the unit, and how old the unit is. Some units are just better to replace if it has excessive wear and tear.2). Shop around for a replacement unit that way, even if you do decide to call the repair man, you will be able to compare the cost of the repairs vs purchasing a new unit.3). Before calling the repair man check the power supply to see that the unit is getting proper Voltage needed to operate.4). Check and keep track of the regular maintenance cleaning procedure, sometimes that is all some appliances need to continue to work properly.5) If after checking for some of these things your appliance still not working, make sure to call a professional to diagnose the unit. Never attempt to try to fix it yourself if you are not mechanically inclined and have knowledge of basic electrical wiring!
What questions should a customer ask before hiring you?
WHEN HIRING AN APPLIANCE REPAIR PROFFESSIONAL IT IS VERY INPORTANT TO ASK ABOUT THE TYPE OF WARRANTY THEY WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH. MOST REPUTABLE APPLIANCE REPAIR COMPANIES WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH AT LEAST 90 DAYS WARRANTY. IF YOU THEY DO NOT PROVIDE ANY TYPE OF WARRANTY, THEN YOU SHOULD JUST AVOID THEM. IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO ASK IF THEY SERVICE THE PARTICULAR BRAND OF YOUR APPLIANCE, BECAUSE ALTHOUGH MOST DOMESTIC BRANDS ARE SIMILAR, THEY AREN'T ALL THE SAME. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO FOREIGN BRANDS!
What are you most proud of?
WELL THERE ARE A COUPLE OF APPLIANCES THAT WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO BRING BACK TO LIFE, EVEN AFTER OTHER COMPANIES HAD DETERMAINED THAT IT WAS NON-REPAIRABLE. THERE WAS ONE APPLIANCE IN PARTICULAR (STOVE) THAT I REMEMBER WORKING ON FOR ONE OF OUR CUSTOMERS IN THE BRONX. SO THIS CUSTOMER SOUGHT OUR HELP AFTER HAVING DEALT WITH THE FACTORY AUTHORIZED TECHNICIANS FOR HIS STOVE, WHO AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS OF TRYING TO FIX HIS UNIT, FINALLY DECLARED HIS STOVE AS NON REPAIRABLE. THE PROBLEM WE FOUND WAS THAT THERE WAS A SHORT IN THE WIRING CABLES, A DIFFICULT BUT REPAIRABLE TASK THAT REQUIRED COMPLETE DISSAMBLY OF THE UNIT. THIS WAS A JOB THAT LEFT OUR CUSTOMER MORE THAN SATISFIED WITH OUR WORK!
What kind of questions do customers ask you?
The million dollar question we get from our customers is "What is the best brand?" and our answer is that there isn't a best brand that will go more than 10 years before it breaks down. Unfortunately the rule all across is that appliances now a days have an average life span of about 5-8 years with no problems. And it has become more and more common for us to be called for service for appliance that are not even 5 years old. So what we often tell our customers to consider when purchasing a new appliance is to stick with major common brands, and keep it simple. It's like they say, the more bells and whistles the more problems you are likely to have.
What do you recommend to know before hiring you?
It is important and of great help for the repair man to have the make, model and serial number of the unit.
