Questions and Answers
Do you offer any service after finishing the work?
We can provide before-and-after photos for use in listing on MLS.On a model home real estate staging (vacant), we can provide itemized and detail inventory of all furniture and accessories purchased on behalf of client, this is an excellent list for insurance purposes.
How many projects do you average in a year?
Depeding on the type of project, whether it be a single family home staging or model homes staging, it can vary, we have yet to turn anyone down, or not been able to accept the project and deliver it within the time frame given.
How can we save money hiring you?
In a Real Estate Staging of a private residence, it is always recommended to "de-clutter" BEFORE the Real Estate Stager comes in to do the Staging.Once the Stager arrives, have "moving boxes" available for items the Stager feels are not necessary in the staging, and be able to "store these boxes" for the ultimate move.Do not put photos of your home in any condition prior to staging on the MLS. Have your home staged first then put those photos up on the MLS. Have your first open house, and then get ready to move!
What are you most proud of?
Each project I complete I am most proud of immediately after completing it. Each project has it's own challenges and rewards.
What questions should a customer ask before hiring you?
What is the fee for consultation? What is the fee for a real estate staging and how many rooms does that include? What is the fee for an interior redesign, how many rooms does that include?
Having worked for 24 years as a Marketing Director for new home builders, one of my primary roles was supervision/direction of the merchandising of the model homes with the interior designers. Understanding the process of review of the model homes, process of purchasing of items to be used in the model homes, coordination of purchase, delivery and installation for many years, opened the door to open Homes Enhanced, real estate staging, interior redesign and model interiors.
What do you recommend to know before hiring you?
On a Real Estate Staging of a private residence, I would always need the following information:
- Address of home to be staged.
- The square footage of the home to be staged.
- Room count, i.e., how many bedrooms, baths, formal/informal living room,dining room.
- Are there special rooms to be staged, i.e., family room, den, office bonus room, etc.
- Sales price of the home to be staged.
- Is the home to be staged, occupied or vacant, if vacant are the utilities on?
- The most important information is that the real estate stager be given access of the home to be staged for a walk through, to see how the home is laid out, take measurements, identify window count (for draperies if necessary) and to take photos to assist in planning the staging.
What is important to know about your profession?
Real Estate Staging is the necessary piece to the process of selling a home. Gone are the days of just putting a "For Sale Sign" up in the front yard. Buyers are very savvy, and are looking for a home that they "can just move in", and keep going on with their lives.Depending on the size of the home, staging will cost less than the "first Price reduction", and in this market if the home isn't staged and in such as way as to have the potential homebuyer being able to see themselves living in the home, this homebuyer won't "move-in" they will "move on"!
What kind of questions do customers ask you?
Most clients will ask up front "what is the cost?", and my answer is, answer a few questions for me, as listed above in the section "What information do you recommend to have readily available before looking for a professional in your trade?", then and only then can I answer the question.
What types of jobs are the most common?
Our primary real estate staging is of model homes, and private residence, as we do not carry our own inventory for staging, so that with a vacant, all furniture and accessories must be purchased by the owner/homeowner.
