What is important to know about your profession?
We provide clients with the utmost confidential and professional procedural service regarding their business/personal data, and that I am punctual, dependent, and conservative. I work to guide my clients to the best way their accounting/bookkeeping can provide them with the proper reporting to produce the data so they can review how their company is prospering.
Started advertising my services on several websites and through networking with associates and friends and family. Through many referrals I received leads for new business contacts and was able to begin building my business for services to anyone in need of accounting/bookkeeping services for their business or personal use. I worked in the corporate world for many, many years and after the economy started booming again I decided to start my own venture and provide clients with my expertise that I had provided for many employers and their companies.
How can we save money hiring you?
Start with planning out a budget and cash flow for their business and/or personal use to see where their money is being spent and how to adjust their funds accordingly. To possibly pass some of their funds into a 401K or IRA or some type of retirement vehicle for their future use. To set aside a portion of their funds into a simple savings account to have available if needed.
What are you most proud of?
One of the projects that I am most proud of is a referral from a prominent CPA firm about setting up all the accounting, chart of accounts, create new profit and loss and balance sheet reports from new data in QuickBooks for a large medical practice with five locations to process all their accounting in the QuickBooks software. I continue to work with this CPA in providing monthly reporting on all locations and associates, nurse practitioners and shareholders for their review.
What questions should a customer ask before hiring you?
How long have I been working in this field? Am I familiar with their industry type? Am I familiar with the type of QuickBooks version they use? What is my flexibility of availability to be able to work via onsite and/or remote? What are my rates and how are they billed once the work is performed? How do I keep their information confidential? Would I be available to come in immediately to review their QuickBooks and see what areas need the utmost attention and give them a detailed report of areas of concern?
Do you offer any service after finishing the work?

How many projects do you average in a year?
The projects that I average in a year on a long term basis are fifteen to twenty-five. On a short term basis the average projects are fifteen. In the interim I could have as many as five to ten immediate, quick projects where clients just need a quick clean up processed and/or a few months of bank reconciliations processed to catch them up since they hired an in-house bookkeeper. Some projects entail training and oversight of how the in-house bookkeepers are processing data and if it is accurate.
What kind of questions do customers ask you?
The most frequent questions I get from customers are as follows: #1 What are your rates? My rates vary depending on the project and if they prefer to pay hourly or by the project. #2 Would I be able to come to their office and work on their bookkeeping and how often? Yes, I can work in their office at various times and it can be weekly, biweekly, monthly or quarterly or yearly. #3 What types of clients do I work with? I work with all industry types and different types of QuickBooks.
What types of jobs are the most common?
The most common types of jobs are clean up, i.e., get all the data input into QuickBooks so they can have their tax returns prepared and send all the data to their CPA. Other types of common jobs are normal, routine bank/credit card reconciliations and getting the chart of accounts properly set up and have all accounts/items properly categorized. Making sure all the data is properly coded so that it will reflect on the Profit and Loss report along with the liabilities and assets being listed on the Balance Sheet.
What do you recommend to know before hiring you?
The information that I recommend to have readily available before looking for a professional in my trade is to be aware of what you would need in order to make your company run proficient and smooth. Are you willing to use the QuickBooks versions to run your accounting software for your business and/or personal needs. What you are trying to accomplish for your accounting needs for your company? How do you want it processed and how do you want the reporting to appear for your review.
