Questions and Answers

  • What kind of questions do customers ask you?
Most common question is: "What all do you do?" For us, most of the time when we complete a project or the customer becomes comfortable about our performance and professional mannerisms, the want us to do other projects. So our answer is: "There is not much we DON'T do"!Our team of people have many years of experience in various projects and our team members are individually experienced in exact trades. For example, we have team members that are very knowledgable with plumbing, some with experience in electrical repair, some with doors...etc.
  • What is important to know about your profession?
Completing estimates/quotes and/or proposals is costly for the contractor. This is part of the overhead that is ultimately passed on to the customer. When customers request an estimate, which most contractors advertise as "free". It's not free necessarily. The contractor may not request that the customer pay for the estimate at the time, but somewhere down the line, customers do ultimately pay for these estimates. Additionally, it is, at least, common courtesy for the customer to share the information regarding the estimates rec'vd by them as the contractor really NEED this information to insured that their pricing is competitive.
  • What we may not know about you?
There is no job too small or too large. We pride ourselves in being able to perform multiple trades and multiple projects. It is necessary to keep our crews together and working as we spend a great deal of time training our people to "do it our way".We would like our customers to know about our Home Maintenance Program. Utltimately, it saves the customer money over the year as through our home inspections we "catch" things that are about to breakdown or require work, take care of it at the time of our maintenance visit, thus saving services charges from other trades such as plumbing, HVAC and electrical issues.
  • How many projects do you average in a year?
Approximately 30 to 40. We try to help our customers with their needs regardless of the size of the project. We don't mind if the project is not much more than a service call, especially when it comes to the elderly or home bound customer. We are pros, we enjoy being able to "help out" when we are asked.
  • What questions should a customer ask before hiring you?
What is your professional background related to my project? What would your customers say about you?How can I be assured that you will finish my project?
  • What types of jobs are the most common?
Repairs. Although a lot of our customers have "dream" projects, most have a "need". For example, fences. Fences for a lot of folks is mandatory and they wait as long as possible to get the most life out of their fence. With the new fencing materials and technology available, ie stains and sealers for pros, if the proper investment is made up front for fencing the life of the new fence usually doubles the old one, at least!
  • What do you recommend to know before hiring you?
We highly recommend and understanding of the possible cost/s associated with the "dream" project or the "repair" project. "Sticker" shock is most commonly the issue between being able to get your "dream" project completed or not. The more the customer is educated about the possible cost/s and shares budget information with the contractor, the easier it is for a contractor to try to meet or exceed budget issues and try harder to make the project affordable.
  • How can we save money hiring you?
Customers could save money and time (which equals money) by understanding their project needs, wants and desires and don't be shy about sharing budget information with the contractor/s. This saves all parties time and effort in the estimating process and it will help the customer with the ability to more clearly understand the Proposals / Quotes when they are recieved by the contractors as the estimates will be more competitive. Budget/s shared with the contractor should not be a secret!
  • Do you offer any service after finishing the work?
Warranty for up to three years, customer service after the sale, support during the warranty period, discounts for returning customers.
  • How did you get started?
I began as a framing carpenter in 1979, worked my way up the ranks to superintendent, then project manager and then to VP of Construction as a general contractor. I have trained and tested in various licenses with success. I was asked to complete a small project for a friend of a friend and have been a professional residential contractor ever since.
  • What are you most proud of?
Outdoor kitchen in Royce City, Texas. It includes an outdoor wood burning fireplace that was designed into the new covered deck area so the customer could enjoy the fireplace in any weather, rain or shine. The cooking grill is 8'6" in length with all the newest technology, H/C running water, wet bar. The bar is constructed of all stone and is 27 feet in length. The roof was required to be flat and I utilized new flat roof technology. I designed and install new technology regarding low voltage lighting and accent lighting. Installed all wood in top quality: Western Red Cedar.
