Questions and Answers
How can we save money hiring you?
Let us know what type of wall being mounted, drywall, wood studs, metal studs, plaster and lath, above a fireplace, concealing wires, adding electrical outlet, etc. If you have the mounts and the wires for the tv, please consult with us first to make sure they are going to be good for your specific installation.
What questions should a customer ask before hiring you?
Are you licensed and insured and certified tv installer? Do you have references, or a website we can view before hiring you.
What do you recommend to know before hiring you?
The information about the television, about the wall being mounted onto, if we are concealing wires or adding outlet behind the television, if it is above a fireplace or standard framed interior wall.
What we may not know about you?
We are a family owned, CEDIA & Chief Certified TV Installer who is a NY NJ CT Licensed and Insured Contractor.
Do you offer any service after finishing the work?
Patching of walls if necessary, Programming of TV and components such as Cable, DVD, Blue Ray Player, Etc..
What are you most proud of?
I did a job recently that the client was told was not possibly by a few different contractors including best buy/ geek squad. When we arrived I was tempted to tell client it was not possible due to the amount of work necessary, but explained it is possible, but will take time and will be messy. The installation was above a fireplace, no near by outlet and cable was not near by. So we had to open walls up to get to an outlet above fireplace and run new cable to location and then conceal wires and patch all walls up. Client was very pleased.
I am a licensed and insured general contractor and master carpenter. When I was building out custom cabinets for a client I was asked if I could mount a television. This was about 20 years ago. Since then I started a new business which just focused on tv installation, tv mounting.
How many projects do you average in a year?
It depends on time of the year. On average per year I would say we are doing anywhere from 100-1000 tv mounting. We used to do less and charge more, but as more people can afford televisions we have been on call more often and charge less.
What is important to know about your profession?
A professionally trained and licensed and insured professional should do the job. It is not a job left to an uninsured, unlicensed handyman person. You are dealing with an expensive purchase and it must be secured securely onto the wall so not to fall off but also not to damage the wall and structure.
What kind of questions do customers ask you?
Can the tv be mounted above the fireplace? Absolutely. Can the wires be concealed? Absolutely. Can you add an outlet behind the tv? Absolutely.
What types of jobs are the most common?
Above Fireplace Installations are becoming very common. With a room with a fireplace you are limited to where to place the tv, above the fireplace is the ideal location.
