About Make It Happen

Main scope of business is to make second homes, vacation homes and rentals, etc. ready for occupation here on the Monterey, Peninsula.

Coming to town for a special event or just a weekend or longer getaway? I will make sure everything in the residence works properly, stock the refrigerator/pantry/wine bar with your favorite items, air out the residence.

I will also make sure any second vehicle is clean, gassed up, ready to drive. I can also make dinner reservations, get movie tickets, make golf tee times...anything needed to Make It Happen.

I can also undertake small residential repairs (painting, light plumbing and light electrical), gardening and window cleaning.

If you have something that needs to be assembled I am your man (as long as there are instructions, that is!)

I have been a Monterey Peninsula resident for over 50 years and have excellent references.

Questions and Answers

  • What is important to know about your profession?
That this type of service is out there.
  • Do you offer any service after finishing the work?
A call back or email to confirm if everything was done to their satisfaction and if there is anything else I could of done.
  • How did you get started?
I started out taking care of my neighbors' houses when they went out of town on vacations (picking up the mail, and newspaper, moving the garbage bins out to and from the sidewalk, placing some lights on timers). I would also walk around the house looking for any unusual activity both inside and outside the house. Then with the downturn in the economy I decided to do something I liked and this opportunity was right in front of me.
  • What are you most proud of?
I am proud of all of my projects/jobs. I am an old-school soul and I take pride in my work, I always do things the right way and don't take shortcuts. I may take a bit longer to do a job but it will always be done right. I am proud when I see the look on the customers face at the end of a job or project.
  • How many projects do you average in a year?
Just starting out really but about ten a year.
  • What questions should a customer ask before hiring you?
How long have you been doing this type of work? When are you available?
  • How can we save money hiring you?
Tough question. I would say be careful with trying to save money because sometimes you get what you pay for. Check references and ask questions.

Steven came over and assembled a storage shed for me and pointed out that a major part was missing. I went over to where I bought the shed and got a new piece and Steven came right back to complete the installation. Great, friendly service, and I'd use him again.
