What kind of questions do customers ask you?
What are termites? Why is my deck tilted sideways? Why are termites inside my walls? Is it really expensive?.Answers- termites are wood destroying organisms that feed of the moisture in the wood. They can eat an reproduce in a very destructive way. Decks normally get damaged because they are exposed to climate control. Water, heat deterioration is expected. Not having proper sealants is always a strong factor. Subterranean termites can bore through drywall in order to throw out Frass in order to create more space. It's not expensive if you shop around!
How many projects do you average in a year?
I average from 4-6 jobs per month on good months. Sometimes we end up 2 or 3 on bad moths. We're only 2 guys so it works ok sometimes.
What is important to know about your profession?
I'm out there, ill do it right, I'll do it 4less or ill match the price.I can recommend better ways or better products.
What are you most proud of?
A church remodel. We came up with a plan to remodel an older building for a pastor. This project was a low profit since we decided God would provide more work for us. As we finished drywall and paint customers started to call my office to schedule work. For some reason what I didn't get of profit at the church I got doubled with these other homes.
Do you offer any service after finishing the work?
We offer Annual inspections, free over the phone consultation (in case that you have questions about other areas that were not inspected), quality control visit, to make sure it's done correct and at your satisfaction.
As a termite inspector and technician, I started working with real estate agents who wanted a better price and price to match from larger construction contractors. Not a lot of small companies are willing to wait to get paid by escrow, so I played ball with the agents and found a good way to bring leads to my company.
What do you recommend to know before hiring you?
Always make sure that who ever you look for has the experience for the type of work to be performed. Have an ID and willing to have it copied for your protection. Not all who enter your home has the plan to work only.
How can we save money hiring you?
Saving money is good, but look at the overall picture, it's not just fixing. If the source of the issue is not taken care of the problem will still be there and or will happen again. So don't spend a buck here and there, Renovate smart.
