Jose Quintela was hired to install vinyl flooring. The installation was well below average, and extremely sloppy. Seems improperly installed and separated after just a few days, air bubbling throughout basement hallway, adhesive smeared on base molding and cabinetry toe-kicks. Pictures are available and just a few examples of the poor workmanship.

We agreed to a price of $600 for the project before he began work, and he was paid $600 upon completion. Now (several months atfer) Mr. Quintela claims that he is owed and additional $200 for the installation.

Due to Mr. Quintela's poor installation the areas in which he installed the vinyl needs to be torn out. The seams on the vinyl weren't properly glued or aligned, air pockets throughout the basement, flooring adhesive splattered on the base molding and cabinet toe kicks. The base molding/toe kicks cannot be cleaned (to their pre-loss condition) and need to be replaced and re-painted/re-finished along with properly installed "New" vinyl flooring throughout kitchen and basement.

Mr. Quintela claimed that the homeowner was completely satisfied following the installation in August 2014, yet he also made the claim that all issues have been resolved in the first week of December 2014. My question: If the installation was satisfactory, Why were repairs necessary?

Mr. Quintela refuses to abide by his original quote, and his workmanship is far below average. I would suggest others look elsewhere for a flooring installation company.
