Questions and Answers

  • What do you recommend to know before hiring you?
Are you looking to hire, or just for a quote/estimate. As much detail as possible about the project. A start date and if there is an end date. A budget, if you can have one set. Clearly your expectations, needs and whatever knowledge and feedback you can give.
  • What are you most proud of?
As long as I can walk away from a project and feel good about the work done, the communication between myself and the client, and have done everything I think I could do to my best ability, that makes me proud.
  • How can we save money hiring you?
It really depends on the project your wanting/needing to be done. Big difference between what you would like to do and what you NEED to be done. I always say "You get what you ask for and what you pay for". I say that mostly to get the thought process working and realizing it's all in what and how your asking for something, and sometimes the least expensive isn't worth the little savings.
  • How many projects do you average in a year?
It's hard to say how many projects in a year. I work with a condo building in Belltown, and I'm working on projects daily, in addition to my projects outside of the condo's.
  • What types of jobs are the most common?
Some of the most common jobs i do is changing garbage disposals, installing/changing bathroom/kitchen faucets, installing/changing light fixtures, flooring, drywall install/repair,painting, tile, cleaning gutters, pressure washing roofs, sidewalks and driveways. Minor leaks and drips, and all kinds of troubleshooting issues.
  • What questions should a customer ask before hiring you?
I think a few basic questions to ask right off would be, "How long have you been doing Handyman work, and what does being a 'handyman' mean to you?" "How much is your hourly rate? Do you have project fee's?" "Are you City and State licensed?" And I might think about asking for references.
  • Do you offer any service after finishing the work?
Do my best to leave the space cleaner then when I started. An open ear for direct feedback. And if something doesn't turn out the way you wanted, I don't charge to redo it.
