Services
I specialize portraiture, and love utilizing natural light, although flash and additional lighting is always fun to work with to capture a better image. At events I take a photo journalistic approach and aim to take candid photos while directing for a more flattering portrait.
Brands
I use Nikon and Sony cameras and lenses and have a full studio set up as well. I enjoy using my speed light, though I love to play with natural light as well.
Questions and Answers
-
What are you most proud of?
I had the pleasure of shooting a smaller wedding in Twentynine Palms. It was a three hour drive for me, and I was happy to shoot in the desert. There was something special about the event and when I look at the photos I feel there was magic in the air.

What kind of questions do customers ask you?
The one question I am always asked is "How much?" to which I always say, "It depends on what you want." I do have packages on my website but I work with clients to give them a fully custom deal!Another question I get is about financing. I offer payment plans as well.
-
What we may not know about you?
I am a photographer by trade but I am also a singer. I am a lead singer in two bands, Citizens in Peril and Blackwater Prophecy. In my spare time I make jewelry and art.
-
What is important to know about your profession?
It is difficult to appreciate the work of a photographer without going behind the scenes. As a self employed photographer I am responsible for my own health insurance, my expenses, and my equipment. Also there is a lot of time involved in developing the photos. Many times I hear, "Your camera takes nice photos" and the reality is the camera does not make the photo, it just takes it, the photographer sees it and makes the photograph. A person with a good eye can use a point and shoot camera or an iPhone and make beautiful photos... a trained person can make even better ones with their understanding of light and composition.
-
Do you offer any service after finishing the work?
I enhance and even edit my work. Some clients have asked me to remove scars or blemishes in photo shop. I also offer print services through partnerships with various print shops thus being able to provide a wide spectrum of photo products to my clients. Clients can also order additional prints online via a custom URL.

What do you recommend to know before hiring you?
Before you ask a wedding photographer or any photographer how much, keep in mind what type of photos you want and ask them if they can accommodate your desires. Also inform the photographer where, when and how big or small the event is. Consider that just because an event is smaller it does not change what a photographer needs to do.
-
What questions should a customer ask before hiring you?
Always ask questions which relate to your needs. Often clients are caught up on budget, which is understandable, however consider your wants as well!
I took up photography in Jr. High school and began working professionally photographing weddings and 15eras in 2001. Today I mostly shoot events on the weekends.
-
What types of jobs are the most common?
I get many weddings but I get even more glamour photography shoots. Mainly because of client referrals.
-
How can we save money hiring you?
Personally, I value photography. I paid my photographer for my wedding much more than I myself charge, but it is because I believe photography is memory at a glance rather than investing time in re-watching a video. The food gets eaten, the drinks get consumed, but photographs last forever.

How many projects do you average in a year?
I take on 7-10 events a year as I shoot on the weekends mostly. The rest of the time I am shooting for my own personal collections or to display in art shows.
