Questions and Answers

  • What do you recommend to know before hiring you?
I think people should read about the affects of massage. Medically and physically. If someone is suffering with some kind of health issue, they need to make sure massage would be recommended. Also, people should understand that there is a level of pain that is good but that you should not let the pain exceed a 7 on a pain scale of 1 to 10.And, if someone is new or not consistent with massage, they may feel sore for a day or two after. Sometimes this is due to the build up of lactic acid in the muscles. Other times it may be the pressure used was to much. Although it may have felt good at the time of the massage, if you are not regularly receiving it, you may be sore.Communicate with the therapist. Don't be afraid to speak up if the pressure is to much.
  • What questions should a customer ask before hiring you?

  • What are you most proud of?
Teacher Appreciation Week is always special. They don't make a lot of money so rarely spend money on themselves for things like massage. They are so appreciative and can never say thank you enough. The principal said to me, "you have no idea what this does" and I finished his sentence saying "for their morale". He just responded yes, sign us up for next year. It's great to have an effect like that.
  • Do you offer any service after finishing the work?

That we are a completely therapeutic alternative therapy that can be very beneficial both mentally and physically. That our profession has come a long way from previous perceptions of massage.
  • What types of jobs are the most common?
Chair massage has become very common. It's found in offices, airports and all types of events. The demand for in home services and corporate massage services continues to increase year after year.
  • How did you get started?
In 2003 the loss of a job led me to massage therapy school.
  • What we may not know about you?
I really had never gotten massage. I lost a job and the stress of that really affected me. I used a gift certificate for a massage that I had been given. I left after that massage knowing that's what I wanted to do. Even if just temporarily, the relief I felt and what that massage therapist did for me that day was what I knew I wanted to do for others.
