Questions and Answers

  • What we may not know about you?
Very funny question. I have 2 toes stuck together from birth. I take my work very seriously. To some people its just a job-- to me its an obsession. I love to make people laugh and i am known as a class clown... but at work -- its all business and serious.
  • What are you most proud of?
My steady helper and partner was not available, when a frantic customer called me needing help because her mover did not show up. We were thin on man power; turning a customer away is never an option. I showed up with my best friend James. We did the move. It was particularly grueling because the furniture was heavy, there were LOTS of stairs involved, and the customers home was in a complete disarray. Nonetheless, we completed it. No complaints. nothing broken. At the end of the job, as a business man... no matter how much money is involved--- a happy customers is what REALLY matters. A happy customer is a returning customer.
  • What types of jobs are the most common?
It really varies more than most people would know. our first customer may be moving a 3 bedroom apartment, while our next customer, is waiting on us to pick up a dresser he bought from someone on craigslist.
  • How can we save money hiring you?
Always be honest! first and foremost. Do not ask for a quote to move a one bedroom apartment, and then we show up to move a 3 bedroom apartment. The price will not be the same. Some people feel that if they tell you that have 10 boxes and a bed; you quote them and you cannot raise that price. But when we show up, and find that theres 40 boxes, 3 beds, 2 baby cribs and 6 dressers, naturally, we will have to raise the price. So be honest.
  • What kind of questions do customers ask you?
i think the most asked question is: " its not as hard as you thought, is it?" I always agree. Truth is: We are moving furniture, and usually up and down stairs ... of course its hard.
  • What do you recommend to know before hiring you?
Have the details available. How many flights of stairs are there involved at both pick up and delivery locations. be as detailed as possible as to what you have. ( some moving companies will start charging you if you have even 1 box over. I NEVER do that. I know that when you booked your mover, odds are, you were not packed up already. So 15 boxes could really mean 20 or even 25. I know this happens, and dont even mention it, unless its clearly a misrepresentation.
  • What questions should a customer ask before hiring you?
1. Are There any additional charges? Answer: No. The price we quote is what we charge.2. Are you insured? Answer: Yes! We provide a half Million Dollars worth of cargo insurance.3. Do you have references? Answer: Yes. a search of our company name will yield hundreds of reliable and verifiable references.4. What methods of payment do you accept upon completion of the move? Answer: We accept three forms of payment: cash, cash, and more cash.
  • How many projects do you average in a year?
Since we handle commercial and residential customers, that number can vary substantially. a safe guestimate would be about 400.
  • What is important to know about your profession?
That is may look like a simple operation. We show up, move your stuff, and its over. Its not as easy as it looks. After you hang up the phone with me when you originally booked the job, I work to make sure all the proper tools are on board. I am mentally trouble shooting anything that could go wring, such as items not fitting in the truck, or even extremely fragile items.
  • Do you offer any service after finishing the work?
As movers, unfortunately, after a move is performed, when the last piece is delivered, we are considered done.
  • How did you get started?
First order of business is to get the vehicle cleared of moving blankets, tools, hand truck and dolly. Second, we announce that we have arrived, and on time. Third, we "meet and greet" our customer. Fourth, we take a mental inventory of what is to be moved. Fifth, we gather the supplies needed to perform such move.
